Thanks. I tried to Google it and was taken to a bunch of adult sites. Not that that's a bad thing. Just unexpected.

My copy The Blob arrived today. Hoping I get a chance to watch it tonight. After all, who doesn't love a murderous, carnivorous, gelatinous mass?

22. The Innkeepers
Hobbyist ghost hunters working in a soon-to-be-closed hotel run into the real deal. Ti West, master of slow-burn horror, wrote and directed this quirky little tale. The characters are funny slacker-types, but this is no stoner-comedy. When West wants to go for the throat, he does and succeeds. Very much a traditional haunted hotel story but without all the craggy gothic trappings, The Innkeepers is a series of tension builds and releases with the thinnest of plots, but it works very well anyway. Sound mix man Graham Reznick (I Can See You) has made a great mix here that will have you jumping. And that old guy up on the third floor? Let's just say you'll be seeing his face in your nightmares for a while after watching this movie.

4 out of 5 stars.

Was all set to put on my loungies, watch football, put the kids to bed then fire up The Blob. Nope. The Mrs. had other ideas. With the imprint of her rolling pin is still smarting on my noggin I said yes dear.

Spoiler!

50. VHS Viral. FTV. More of the same but that's a good thing. Took a chance and rented it on Vudu and got a good return on investment. Like the previous 2 the wrap around story is the weak link but the short films are really cool. Several WTF's for each story.

Very good to hear!

#28, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Netflix HD streaming, FTV. I saw this movie pop up as new on Netflix WI, so I gave it a go. It is a typical fauxmentary style movie with a PHD student doing her thesis on a Alzheimer's patient. This one is kind of one of those been there, seen it, during the first 30 minutes, but the actual story is pretty good! After some typical remote camera capturing wtf moments, this movie takes it up a notch with the suspense. If you can stay with the film, the final set piece was pretty cool and had me saying "Wow!". 3.75 Zombies!!!

I think you'll dig it. My only hope for the next one is that they use iphone 6 cameras to shoot it and enable that stabilization. Some of the angles and motion had me tilting my head to better make out what was up. After sleeping on it I really liked all the short stories a lot.

Good news. I'm a big fan of the other two, so I'm looking forward to it.

Last night's movie........one of my favorites

22. The House of the Devil (2009)- {4.75/5} Blu-ray There was an eclipse yesterday, so this movie was the perfect choice. Ti West hit a walk-off grand slam with this one, ladies and gentlemen. Still as enjoyable as it was when I first saw it. Slow burn done to perfection.....

One thing I forgot to add in my little review. There is an abundance of eye candy in the movie, so it probably deserves a viewing based upon that alone.

Started Pontypool but my son came downstairs last night and asked me to come sleep with him. Now he's home sick so I thought I could catch up today but have only gotten behind. Was planning NoES marathon tomorrow (at least first 3) so that should get me back on track.

The Blob (1988) (FTV)

This movie is a blast. Johnny Drama looks so young. A nice appearance by Erika Eleniak, who went on to Baywatch fame. I've always had a soft spot for her. When she popped out of that cake in Under Siege... But I digress. The Blob is classic 80's goodness. I didn't realize how gory it is. The practical effects are great. It gets 4 Kevin Dillon mullets.

Watched Insidious 2 last night and was very impressed with the cast including the actress that plays the younger version of Patrick Wilson's Mom. Turns out it was the same actress that played Samantha in House of the Devil. She is just so smart looking.

23. Event Horizon
Ghost ship story set in space, the Event Horizon spaceship comes back from interstellar travel with all hands on ship dead...or are they? Superbly done sci-fi horror starring Same Neil and Lawrence Fishburne, this one belongs right up there with classics such as Alien. And it's not afraid to be scary as hell.

4.5 out of 5 stars.
