Agreed, but if you edit your original post for some other reason the mods only see that it was edited. They might think you actually said what the other person "fixed", then you later changed it.
I refuse to believe a Mod on this forum would be so dimwitted to not understand this.
There is rarely Mod turnover at AVS Forum; they are highly experienced here.
As far as being penalized for using the method I described, most likely the original poster complained.
Usually Mods feel obligated to do something when that happens.
Maybe it's as simple as that. My personal opinion is the mods do a very good job here. We can only guess at why they sometimes do the unexpected.
