Checking the "Coming Soon" section at Redbox I see the "The Babadook" and "REC 4" arrive April 14th. RB removed the kiosk at the nearby supermarket but kept the one in front of CVS. Guess the supermarket one might have been under performing.

Oregonians need to be more concerned about stoned Washingtonians than drunk Californians. And soon it may be "stoned Oregonians".

Completely off topic, but how did you come up with your username? My wife and I just booked a week vacation in Cabo for next month.
Roth was only involved in production, not direction or writing so don't get too excited Still waiting on a date for Green Inferno which is held up in some legal battle I guess

Looks like it could reek with cheesy CG but could be okay as well. With Hiddleston involved I'll give it a go either way.

Thanks for effing up my St Patty's Day..... Yeah, I guess I never really looked into any credentials or anything like that. Just ran into the trailer online and it looked like a must see. Green Lantern.....forgot about that film. Hope they figure it out soon.

Crimson Peak is definitely gothic horror with a twist or two. Can't say anymore till it's released.
The last I heard the problem with Green Inferno was the production company's failure to pay money that was owed to Open Road to get the film out into theaters, promote and advertise the picture, when it became apparent the money wasn't coming Open Road pulled the plug. My guess is Weinstein could still pick this up but we'll see.

Agreed, nice bass in this. I would like to see movies get more aggressive with their audio. Checking out Birdman tonight. For some reason the cover reminds me of Richard Moll from Night Court?

Still have a player and box of discs. Some are even $100+ "special editions" with commentaries, extras and different versions. Whether they will still play due to laser rot is another question. By the time BD launched I stopped collecting much as my collections were mainly collecting dust.

I was just a GI when I was buying most of my LD's and I remember I paid $99 for the Criterion Robocop in the late 90's. The sound on them was incredible and DVD didn't look or sound as good as LD's till 2000-2001. Was the LD rot on older LD's or newer ones?

Luckily I still have my vinyl and it is fun to bust out albums and listen to them. My wife would agree I have too much collections that is collecting dust ha!

Looks like I've stumbled into laser discs anonymous. I also have a player gathering dust and a not so big box of discs (I had access to a good rental library) most of the discs I own I've been able to replace with blu rays . What to do with the L/D's (and now a bunch of DVDs) you don't want to send them to a land fill...

Agree 100% on more aggressive audio. It can elevate a ho-hum movie and make a great movie even better.

How was Birdman? It's in my queue. Lol. Richard Moll.

Count me in the LD 12 step program. I have a player gathering dust in a closet. Still have a handful of discs. I sold a lot off in the great purge. Took a huge loss. I'm curious to see what an LD looks and sounds like on my rig. But alas, I'm too lazy to dig it out.

Birdman was good. I could see it being a couples night movie and the wives could feel all theatery while they were watching it. Something about the last third did not totally work for me, but still good. You could feel a love for the theater which probably warmed the hearts of insider folk. I knew the tone they were going to end it on pretty early. Good performances. Audio wise Birdman's voice was really cool and the ongoing live drums and music was a lot of fun. Turn it up!

The arsty farsty movies usually don't float my boat. But this looks good and I've always liked Keaton. Will give it a go.

I should have taken my LDs to Half Price Books a decade ago and gotten some change for them. They were selling used LDs back then. I seem to have too much to do to hook up the LD player and see how it looks on my 55" LED set. Someday maybe.

"The Babadook" just Netflix disc or also WI? Could be both. "iZombie" was fun but have to see if that was just the pilot.

Cheech and Chong were my favs! It could have been that my father always watched those flicks!

I still need to see Ragnarok and Birdman but I might watch The Theory of Everything if I can get the movie tomorrow at RB.

Oh and I read somewhere that Michael Biehn has been confirmed for Niell's new Alien movie!
