Caught Spring last night. Quite interesting movie that walks a line between horror and fantasy. Three and a half voids and tentacles out of Lovecraft.

Watched, or shall I say breezed through Found. Didn't do anything for me which is why I sorta forwarded some parts. It reminded me of A Serbian Film which also didn't anything for me. Don't get me wrong, I like blood and gore in movies but when the whole purpose of the movie is just to show that while having no other qualities, I get bored. I don't find blood and gore scary (on their own).

On another note there was also some extremely bad/cheesy acting by some of the actors/characters.

Maybe I'll give a second viewing sometime later and hopefully understand what "it's all about."

If you didn't like it that's OK. I'm glad you gave an honest opinion. Negative reviews are just as valuable as positive ones. I'm overdue for giving one myself.

American Burger (2014)
"A bus load of American students, all jocks, cheerleaders and nerds, are on a culture trip in Europe when they stumble upon a mysterious Hamburger stand in the deep European woods, selling 100% American Burgers. A visit to the Burger Factory behind the stand, renders them trapped in this unknown territory, and they are about to realize that European notion of American Hamburgers is terrifyingly different from what they're used to..."

A horror comedy that is neither scary nor funny. I wanted to like this one but it was flat. The acting, location and camera work was all pretty good and they had a solid idea to work with, but it just wasn't exciting.

Watched last night.
Pretty good film.
The horns thing was pretty clever IMO.

Although there are horror elements, I agree this isn't really a "horror" movie.
DR was very good, as well as the rest of the cast.

The 3rd act goes on a little too long and could have been edited down IMO.
However, definitely worth a rental.

I guess our local community is embarrassed about Sharknado or it would be bragging about the director being from here. My bet though if I asked the mayor he may not even know what "Sharknado" is. OTOH, I didn't venture downtown last week as I usually do and there was a production company there shooting a PSA with a crew of 30. That would have been fun to watch. About a decade ago I popped into the former Costco building which had become a Walmart and there was a crew there shooting a Walmart commercial.

The mayor of any city within 500 miles of the ocean better know what a Sharknado is. Don't you guys have plans for probable disasters? It's going to happen, just a matter of when. That would be like the mayor of Oklahoma City not knowing what a regular tornado is.

Cleaning house I came across my copy of "Polish Vampire in Burbank" on VHS. Remember that super low budget film? If not here's a documentary about it's making:

The enhanced DVD version might be fun to watch but I recall the arc was a little week. And I also read somewhere though it's not mentioned in the documentary that USA network execs weren't too happy when they learned USA paid $85K (I think) for the broadcast rights on "USA Up All Night". Any old "Up All Night" fans here?

I don't remember "Polish Vampire in Burbank" but I have a copy of "Bloodsucking Babes from Burbank" on DVD.

I watched Up All Night! Didn't they also do "Dinner And A Movie"? I remember someone doing short cooking segments after the commercial breaks before returning to the movie.

Geologists(?) have warned Oregonians for decades W. Oregon has seen some catastrophic earthquake-caused tsunamis in the not too distant past (relatively speaking).
Tsunamis big enough to push up the Columbia River and drown the area where Portland was eventually built.
Of course, no one cares.

Well, after watching VHS last night after much anticipation.....any idea for a new segment would be a welcome one. Wow, talk about a disappointment. The first one regarding Houdini's cape was enjoyable but it was seriously downhill from there. The second one was in Spanish with no friggin subtitles!! Maybe that's a Netflix glitch but as it stood, my high school Spanish courses almost 25 years ago surprisingly didn't cut it.
I noticed that none of the original directors had anything to do with this project and I'm seriously hoping they get back onboard to resurrect this thing. Man, talk about disappointing after how much I enjoyed the first two. I give it maybe a 2 outta 5.
