Worked my way through Starry Eyes last night. It's like a Rosemary's Baby cult meets indie casting couch drama. Nice gore and the lead actress was pretty good. At the end there wasn't enough here to warrant a rental/purchase or repeat viewing.

On recommendation on this thread, I decided to watch WolfCop this afternoon and man it was a fun movie! Good movie for the pile in October!

First of all, the PQ of the DVD is excellent.

The movie is quite enjoyable.
While watching I couldn't help but wonder if this was a pilot for a lost CW series.
It definitely has the vibe.

A couple of problems....
The lead actor has the charisma of a 2x4 and some of the acting was subpar.
Additionally, the movie seemed to have identity problems.
Should it be a comedy or horror?
The filmmaker appeared to be unsure what he really wanted.

Regardless, it's worth a rental.
Should of waited a week if you are adding streaming. It's on Netflix WI in HD.

Will drop it back when I add streaming.

I fought against streaming movies for quite some time as I'm a big BD guy. But for movie-watching on the B-system upstairs, it is perfectly acceptable. Loving me some Trailer Park Boys right now.

The Salem season 2 premiere is on WGN America Sunday night as well. I still haven't watched season 1 yet.

I'm a fan of Ricci. Especially since she rarely wears clothes in her movies. I need to get this saved to my DVR queue.

I do two discs and have streaming. It and Amazon followed by Hulu are our television. We supplement with OTA. But only for PBS and local news. After a year of no commercials just the sound of one is physically jarring. We're just looking at the code when we go out among the normals.

That's what we have too. Along with cable, sans the fancy-pants premium channels. I'm a sports junkie and can't live without my sports channels.

Reading the red alert I searched NF for Berserk: The Golden Age Arc. Two titles came up, neither one being "The Golden Age Arc", and both were cartoons.

Yep. A three part anime movie. Egg of the King, The Battle for Doldrey, The Descent are the three, first part is on streaming. The rest are supposed to be coming real soon. The Blurays are bad ass.

The original series can be found on YouTube. It's full of demons and gore. These movies are a real treat for fantasy fans.

Sounds good. I added The Egg of the King to my list. Gonna watch the latest Helix and if there's time, The Egg.

She gets naked in the Lizzie Borden movie but since it's Lifetime you don't see anything.

No need to DVR it, you can stream it on the B-system.

This movie was not as good as some other fauxmentary movies out there. The setup is pretty good but the pay off isn't worth it unless you have nothing to do. Watch Alien Abduction instead...

I'm slipping into an Easter food coma. Speaking of sushi, you ever watch Monsters Inside Me on Animal Planet? Talk about real life horror stories. It's about parasites that live in you and use you as a host. They did an episode on someone getting nasty little critters from eating sushi. I prefer my food cooked from now on. Also, I'll never swim in the Amazon.

Watched Berserk: The Egg of the King last night. Once I saw his sword it reminded me of a Sega Dreamcast game from the early 00's. Seems it was based off this game. Wasn't bad.

Spoiler!

On Hulu+ I hit the mute button for ads. It helps a lot. But I sometimes get shows that though they may show on the indicator ads they get skipped. This week's Blacklist had no ads.

Discs I do via Redbox. We have a number of them around here. No OTA as I live in a valley but I once drove up the hill to the nearby Starbucks with my laptop and Hauppage USB tune got all the Sacramento channels and the Latino station on Mt. Diablo.

Yeah, I watched it last night. I think I read in the NF reviews that it didn't get good until the last half hour. Two and a half wart hogs.

NF added a slew of new horror though so I have to figure out which to watch but I rented "Birdman" at RB because I have a suspicion many in the area will be hitting NF streaming tonight which might make it not the best night to be streaming anything.

That show is good but pretty disturbing/amazing at the same time. I know now why the US Gov't gave me lots of shots before I went overseas to a third world countries.

It's rare but I also notice after championship games. It often only lasts for a few minutes but what you get is after watching something at 1080 it drops down for a minute or two. I have no proof but the likelihood is that folks are hitting Netflix after a game. Sometimes if you are trying to watch something that has been just added and shows "Popular on Netflix" you might even get a message that they can't show the title to you at this time and to chose something else. Given that people will be finishing a title though sometimes just retrying again will succeed.

As far as BD vs streaming give Vudu HDX a try.

If anything it changes resolution or you get an error message. Errors are pretty rare.
