Thanks for the list Wizzack. Some good stuff in there. And to answer your previous question; yes, the Saw series is finished.

Good to see everyone gearing up. I feel better that I'm not the only one suffering from withdrawals.

Oh yeah, welcome back Airboss. I have a feeling that your absence last year will drive you into the 200 range in an effort to "catch up" to the rest of us.

Thanks for the list. Although there's some I wouldn't classify as horror, eg. Jurassic Park.

"Bikini Girls on Ice" is a horror movie - blind buy bait. Whopping 3.2/10 on IMDB.

I think my participation this year will be hindered by my newborn daughter, due on the first of September. A good old college try will occur at the very least.

I had a cheat day yesterday. I cannot believe that I lasted two months without a single horror movie.

I went ahead and watched "Deep Red." I enjoyed myself. Very original horror movie with a great score and some fantastic suspense. It puts the mystery on the front burner, but when the horror comes into play, man is it full throttled! Would like to have this on BD when it hits around the right price.

I'm itching to get "Dead and Buried" out of the way. The good news, is even with these cheat days, I'll still have way too much to watch this October. I wanna re-experience everything on my new setup!

Congrats darth! Remember they're never too young to start watching horror movies.

I'm looking forward to re-experiencing all of my favorite horror movies this year! Nightmare 1-4 will be tons of fun. Id then have to do friday 1-4, too! I sadly didnt get a chance to watch Halloween last year. This year will be the ultimate viewing, especially with the second one on Blu!

Very nice! You're in for a treat on that big ass screen. Did I read there's a Nightmare boxset coming with all of the movies? The UK maybe? That's a sweet projector and that sub looks too good to be DIY. Cool.

It would be nice to keep track of October's scheduled theatrical releases for the genre as well. I know I want to see The Thing prequel and I recall a couple others that looked to have potential slated for October.

Is the Thing prequel a straight to dvd release or it going to be theater released to?

Man, I'm super stoked about the UK Boxset. It's likely not region locked, but I haven't heard anything really concrete that it is indeed going to be released. If so, I'm there dude!

Nightmare 2/3 US BD is a for-sure thing though. Hell, I'll watch Part 2 again to just see it on the big screen and in HD!

Thanks for the feedback! The sub is indeed, awesome!

Headed to a showing of Carpenter's Halloween tonight. The theater isn't answering the phone. If we show up and it's not 35mm I WILL BE PISSED!

October's starting early this year, kids!

I look at this point in time as SPRING TRAINING FOR OCTOBER, kinda like baseball spring training.

I just saw in the theater yesterday Final Destination 5 in 3D. A fun campy movie with good-looking kills and a really intense scene on a bridge. Not a great movie, but its good for spring training to start getting my mindset ready for October!!!!

Spring Training.....I like that. I did the same with Priest last night. Kinda glad I got it over with now as it was not a good movie. More action than horror. Dialog was full of "clever" quips and one liners from Bettany that seriously weighed on me.

Clive Barker is a fun person to follow on Twitter. He is absolutely not afraid to voice his opinions on stuff. There's some straight-up gay humor at times as well. It's just entertainment.

There is no Hellraiser without Clive Barker. That's why 1 and 2 are the only ones worth really watching.

I've read all of his horror stories. I wish he'd write more. He's much more mellow now; claims that he's a different author now and claims that his old work is a "different place, different time." His horror is one of the best horror ever written.

Even his horror movies that he personally directed are amazing. The only problem with Nightbreed is being its cut and not its content. Hellraiser is a 1 to 1 match to The Hellbound Heart. Even the Midnight Meat Train produced good results, and he just provided some input on that one and didn't direct. Same as Hellraiser 2 because he had ton of input without directing, and I think this movie more than any captures his visceral imagery found in his books.

And I still lay claim that he's written the best short horror omnibuses this planet has ever seen.

Very cool. I don't doubt his writing is amazing and probably mind blowing. Back when I had a tad bit of attention span I should have hunkered down and read Tapping the Vein. Maybe one day!

Books don't look good on my HT so I avoid them Hellraiser 1&2 were both good bit I also have to admit I enjoyed much of Bloodline as well. I thought the backstory on the box was a nice touch. I will absolutely avoid this one though, Pinhead looks like a newb fan at a NIN concert and they've ruined my favorite Chatterbox

LOL!

They should have given Chatterer a gold grill this time 'round to appeal to today's youth.

I tried following your recommendation, and I just found myself bored to the bone while watching Bloodline. I don't think I even finished it. I mean, the backstory was interesting to some level of degree when it did pop itself in every now and then (interesting as it kept me above the threshold for not turning the movie off), but this movie is still a farcry from the originals in every element possible and is ultimately a "pass." I mean, the lack of atmosphere and visceral visuals makes this not even a Clive Barker movie. I'm sure by now that he hates when his name is tag lined onto the title--"Clive Barker presents." I can assure you that Clive Barker did not present Bloodline to anyone. At least Hellraiser 3 had some entertaining scenes. You just had to sit through 80% of the other boring and lacking scenes to get to them.

I mean, the lack of atmosphere and visceral visuals makes this not even a Clive Barker movie.

I didn't care for the 3rd one and I know Bloodline is bad but I still like it if for nothing else than adding a bit of history to the box and its origins. Pinheads chattering dog was cute too
