Scintilla/The Hybrid. A more methodical and realistic Frankenstein's Army. I liked it a lot, while more scifi than horror I think some here may like it. 3.5 Mutant Comrades.

The Pyramid. Another solid b creature feature. This time our rogue archaeologists defy orders and enter an ancient pyramid only to be trapped and not trapped alone. Cat lovers will love it. 3.5 Books of the Dead.

The Banshee Chapter was scary as hell! Scariest movie I've seen in a very long time. Watch it!

I wanted Banshee Chapter to be so much more.

I was pleasantly surprised. It went in a direction I did not see coming.

I "oinked" "Icetastrophe" after about 15 minutes. Too much a Syfy "movie of the week" which probably it was. Blah, even with some cast members from "Continuum". I did think that "After" was quite good and worth a watch.

Fans of old fashioned practical FX will want to check out the auction of a ton of effects artist Rick Baker's stuff, on May 29th! There's a fair amount of "meh" stuff (too many gorilla & Eddie Murphy movies) but some diamonds in the rough (Thriller prosthetics, Gremlins 2, etc.), check it out here:

Wanted to watch The Pyramid last night. Sadly, it's not on Netflix. Didn't feel like paying the $5 the other guys want. I'll wait. Hopefully NF gets it soon.

Headed to see Poltergeist in 3D at Studio Movie Grill tonight. Keeping expectations somewhat low but will report back.

I was going to change over to "astronaut pig" today.
Unfortunately, the forum interface is telling me the pic has to be 148x148 and I don't know how to downrez the image to that size.

Some reviewers are saying great things about it but others not so much. I will see it regardless in the next couple of weeks since the original Poltergeist is one of my all-time favorite movies but I would love to hear some impressions here! I heard that they don't waste a lot of time getting things going which I believe given the 93 minute run time. I think I will try to see the 3D version.
