Yeah, those OS/2 machines took forever to boot up. We used to call it a "half OS" system. I went to a talk given by IBM promoting using OS/2 for kiosks and they were embarrassed because only only 2 people showed up.

To think some knucklehead(s) at IBM allowed Microsoft to dominate the personal computer industry is one of the biggest gaffes in business history.

The way in which the protagonist finds the killer of his daughter is a little ex machina, but the payoff is different from most other movies.

Edit: Its the 2012 Australian film I am talking about.

Not horror but I watched "Maps To The Stars" the other night on DVD. Redbox had a 25 cent rental deal for DVDs. Like I say not horror but it is a Cronenberg film so weird enough and contrary to some of the public reviews I rather liked it.

In other news I see the Memorial Day box office was a disaster. When are the Hollywood execs going to realize that a lot of the public can't afford a night at the movies anymore? Actually Cronenberg's film is bit about Hollywood and the weird way it works.

I started it last night but I kept thinking about Fury Road and turned it off. Will try later unless the kid wants to watch Strange Magic again.

This movie is a lot like an old Twilight Zone episode out of the mind of Rod Serling.

Memorial Day is a holiday where people go out out of town with the extended weekend, and go outside. Traditionally a bad movie weekend more years then not.

Interesting list.

Extraterrestrial was pretty fun. Sure, it was completely paint by numbers but Michael Ironside doing a home grow, conspiracy dude, was worth watching the movie for.

Indeed a solid flick. I'd like to see that VHS sequence on aliens expanded a bit.

Agreed. The relationship, conspiracy and history with the aliens would have been a fun back story to tap into. It did seem odd to me that this alien race with such superior technology would choose to behave like common slashers in a 2015 movie? Torture for the sake of torture and a ship full of bodies like it's a back woods house in Wrong Turn movie?

Well we might be the backwoods in galactic terms and those aliens drove their Space RVs here.

Anyone seen Unfriended or Always Watching: A Marble Hornets Story? Both are being released in theaters on the 28th here. I'm leaning towards Unfriended because I like the idea and what I saw in the trailer. Not sure if either one is worth watching in the theater though.

After wasting an hour of my life on Extraterrestrial, I settled into Jinn.

A much better "waste" of time.
About halfway thru it occurred to me this must be a failed TV series pilot.
If not, it certainly plays like it.
