You will be surprised what time you can find in a day to do something! Some people watch a few during the weekend, or watch a movie via a mobile device at lunch, or watch late at night.

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year so I try and watch at least one a day or part of one a day. And if you can only squeeze in a few, that is quite all right.

Oh and welcome to our thread!

Here is a link that I think some people will enjoy reading! I have seen some of these films once but if anybody needs to add some stuff (albeit extreme) to their October pile, here you go!

That's quite the list! Tailor made for Yankeeman I've seen a handful of them.

I see that Headless is on the list. I recently recommended Found to a buddy and after he watched it, he told me about Headless which is supposed to be some sort of prequel or continuation of Found. According to him, it's 100% legit, so I'm looking forward to checking it out sometime. I think the only way to watch it is on Youtube though.

Agreed and hopefully Yankeeman is making his list of these!

Watching The Nightmare now, from the Room 237 guy, super freaky if you ever had sleep paralysis. The people trying to rationalize what's happened are telling stories that are like so many of my dreams. Weird.

Caught the Lazarus Effect, with Olivia Wilde, the other night and it's a mix of Pet Semetary and Flatliners. Worth a rental if that floats your boat.

Cool. I've only seen one of those, Audition. If Headless is as good as Found it should be a real treat.

It's actually not bad. It's currently on on-demand. Sadly you must sit thru commercials.

Edit: Don't forget to set your DVRs for some Lavalantula coming later this month. I'll start a thread for this modern day classic once they release a trailer.

Spoiler!

I think I am going to see both the Lazarus Effect and The Nightmare for October.

This weekend/past week I watched a mix of Final Destination, Evolution (not Horror but it is funny and has creatures in it) the Faculty and I watched The Mist using the 3D effect (never used it) on my Pj. Not a bad effect for a 2D movie I might say.

I think I can hold off of the new horror because in a few months a ton of other than horror movies will be coming out.

Spiders, which reminds me I need to buy Arachnophobia!

Watched Creepshow (1982). Pretty fun.

The last "clip" (the one with the bugs) gave me serious creeps!

I have seen almost all of them. Grotesque is my fav of the ones on that list, i have it on dvd and never get tired of it.

I would watch Grotesque this coming October if i am able to do October. Wife has come down VERY seriously ill, not sure whats gonna be in the near future and down the road, will have to see what happens. Our lives right now is worse than a horror movie, and it all started only 2 weeks ago, before that as far as we knew everything was fine. I will tell all my friends here, enjoy every day, you never know when all hell is gonna break loose out of nowhere.

Anyone else think the monsters/creatures/etc. in 80s horror movies look absolutely awesome? They have this certain style that really works for me.

I think what worked in most cases was that they were real, as in at least physical, but yes they ooze style.

I am biased towards anything Horror/Sci back in the 80's because I got to enjoy these flicks when they were new! I would say that also a lot of Horror in the 90's were decent because CGI (or really bad cgi) wasn't used for everything.

Memorable scenes from 80's horror flicks that stuck in my mind are, Scanners head explode, Indiana Jones: Raiders (I know not horror but the last part was in line with horror) Opening of the Ark, Aliens Bishop getting cut in half by The Queen, The Shining room 237, Poltergeist Face Peeling and non edible food, Werewolf in London, the transformation, The Thing, Blood test, and Operating room etc..I am sure there is more but that is off the top of my head.
