That looks cool, added to queue!

I watched Last Shift on NF yesterday and I though the movie was going good, till the ending. Great looking scenes and creepy ish but that ending was kind of a let down. Last night Syfy had Temple of Doom on and I decided to watch this movie in it's entirety. I know I am in the minority (to most folks) but I really dig Temple of Doom because of the dark/horror premise but there is goofy comedy sprinkled throughout the film. I also researched initial reaction back in 1984 for this film and people were really turned off by the look and certain aspects for the film. Like Indy smacking Short Round and smacking Willy, also child slavery. I really don't get the uproar (because the film ended well) and even Spielberg said his film was too dark and even upstaged Poltergeist in certain aspects. When I saw this film when I was 8 years old, I was shocked by certain things initially (Mola Ram heart pulling) but I really loved Temple of Doom because it was dark! For me though as a kid the most disturbing part of the Indy films is opening of The Arc and the Nazis face melting/getting zapped. I guess people have different expectations of certain films but I think Temple of Doom gets a bad rap and is as good as the first Indy. Sorry for the rant but I was shocked that folks were that upset by this movie back in the day.

Our loser of the day is "The Chosen" on Netflix. Good concept poorly executed. And actual bad acting! Where were the SAG/AFTRA police? I often ask people what they mean by "bad acting" other than the flat amateur acting you see in some indies which is because the actors aren't pros. This one has some good examples of bad acting though I shouldn't necessarily blame the actors as they may have wanted another take but the director wanted to move on. The young girl actress is particularly bad. You may want to stay with it to see where they take the story but this would have been a good one for Sam and Dean to help out on. Two and a half crayons.

Watched the movie Pod and it was pretty good! I like all the gov't/alien conspiracy stuff so this fit the bill today!

I know there is kind of a drought of horror flicks as of yet, but I found one in the works that looks like it will check a lot of our wish list in what we like in modern Horror movies! The movie is called The Void!

Jeremy Gillespie & Steven Kostanski’s “THE VOID” Commences Production, Announces Cast
in: News | December 9, 2015 - 2:25 pm | by: Ken W. Hanley | Comments Off on Jeremy Gillespie & Steven Kostanski’s “THE VOID” Commences Production, Announces Cast the-void-1

For fans of the Astron-6 filmmaking collective, the word “serious” would be one most would consider outside of the entity’s vocabulary. However, coming off of the release of THE EDITOR, Astron-6 members Jeremy Gillespie & Steven Kostanski are teaming up for something much more straight-laced as their crowdfunded chiller THE VOID has officially begun filming according to executive producer Todd Brown over at Twitch Film. Furthermore, THE VOID has also announced its principal cast, featuring an impressive roster of genre vets and newcomers.

For those unfamiliar, here’s the official synopsis of THE VOID…

When a mutating horde of parasitic creatures threatens to breach an isolated hospital, a lone police officer and a group of hospital staff band together to fortify themselves within its walls. But as they prepare for the fight of their lives, they will discover the real terror is already inside.

With the film nearly two weeks already in production of its 20-day, Canada-based shoot, THE VOID has announced Kenneth Welsh (a/k/a TWIN PEAKS’ villain Windom Earle), Aarone Poole (COPPER), Ellen Wong (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD), Stephanie Belding (WATCHMEN), Kathleen Munroe (SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD), Art Hindle (THE BROOD) and Daniel Fathers (PONTYPOOL) for its impressive ensemble cast. With the film looking to wrap before the year’s end, fright fans should expect to see more of the practical FX-driven film, including potential release and festival dates, in 2016. You can follow the progress on the film at their Facebook and Twitter pages, and be sure to check back at FANGORIA.com for more on THE VOID!

This movie looks really promising and I hope to view it soon!

I'm mad at Shudder right now. Their latest Android app update wiped out compatibility with my devices. I've been trying to get it installed on my Nexus Player since before October. I sent them an e-mail about it and they said they know about the problem and it would be fixed in the next update. Still waiting.

Watched A Christmas Horror Story last night.
Easily one of the best horror films of the year (IMO).

Production values are high.
Excellent acting and writing.

While watching I thought the movie was an anthology.
I didn't see many connections between the tales.
Amazingly, the writer(s) tie it all together at the end.
Dandy stuff...reminds me of the great Trick R Treat.

Watched Beetlejuice (1988). First time watching it and thought it was pretty good. Didn't quite have the feel of the awesome cartoons but still enjoyable.
