I've been playing "catch up" so last night watched "Interstellar" on Hulu+. If anyone here watches in Hulu tell me whether you think it's being presented 720p or 1080p (regardless of what Hulu says).

The other preoccupation is setting up an new Windows machine. My 5 year old Acer was beginning to impinge on any development and graphics authoring I do. So yesterday bought a mid-level game PC that was on sale at Frys. It had suitable specs and should be usable for a few years. Being it's from a company that specializes in these it's also upgradeable which a lot of the mainstream desktops are not or at least not easily.

So now the fun part begins with moving stuff from the Acer to the new machine and transferring licenses.

I have been on a Black-Out...don't read ANYTHING having to do with the movie.

Will probably be going to a matinee in 2-3 weeks when the kids go back to school.

I would recommend not waiting that long. It will be nearly impossible to avoid major spoilers during that period, as people are going to want to talk about them. If not from people you know, you'll be likely to hear it on the radio, TV, or your eyes will fall upon it before you can even catch what it's about. For what it's worth, when we went to the 11:30 AM showing yesterday, the theater was only about 15-20% full, so the theaters are not as packed as one might expect.

Yeah, we were surprised, too. We bought the tickets a month ago, and there were only about four other seats sold. When we got to the theater it showed that about 30% of the seats were sold for that showing, but there were a lot more empty seats than that. There must have been a lot of people that pre-purchased but decided not to go for whatever reason.

I don't much care for the theater-going experience anymore, but I do lover the reserved seating option. You have the chance to pick the best seats in the house, and don't need to show up until the actual showtime. And it gives you an idea of how many people will be attending.

It ain't George Lucas's Star Wars anymore. It's Dizzy-Knee the DMCa people. Their PR department has been in overdrive pushing this thing. Some people might have gotten so tired of the hype they will avoid it or wait for the BD.

Our 2pm today was packed. All ages, we arrived at 1:10 and just got in to get prime seats.

Their loss, JJ did right by the series. My problem with the hype are the bandwagon fans and all their chatter not to mention the Star Wars sour cream at the grocery.

If Disney is reading this however: I would pay 50 bucks for a BD on my way out of the theater.

Spoiler!

Great pic of you and your shorty. That smirk is priceless. Dark side better beware.

I think I only saw the first three Star Wars films in a theater. I waited for the DVDs the second three. And by then I was getting bored with the franchise. But it was sure a curious thing to know people who had grown up on it and what a societal impact it has had.

Not exactly horror but sci-fi I finally got around to renting "Mad Max: Fury Road" from the kiosk due to a deal on BD rentals. Believe it or not I had a little trouble staying awake through it. But I was amused at some of the things George Miller puts in his films. For instance being a musician myself I know having the one vehicle with drummers and a guitar player was a tongue in cheek reaction to seeing films that have heavy drum scores during action scenes. So I think he put that vehicle in as a homage and joke.

Anybody see "The Editor" yet? It's a homage to those Italian Giallo directors. I may rent it over the next few days.
