Season 1 and Season 4 are amazing. I haven't watched 8, but it was a slow decline from each high for me with 2, 5 and 6 being really spotty and 3 and 7 being borderline unwatchable. Just make sure you watch season 4 if season 3 makes you want to give up.

I bought and watched "Luther" season 4 on Amazon last night. It may be on Netflix but you might have to wait for season 5 to be broadcast before it shows up there. I read it's available on DVD at NF though. Great show but the Amazon interface was being flakey on my BD player. No app for the Shield TV and apparently won't be. I guess Amazon is more into selling the razor and not so much focused on selling blades? Ramp up takes far more time than NF though the PQ was excellent and probably the 10 Mbps stream.

I would have bought it on VUDU (ramp up free just a brief progress circle) but I had some gift credits on Amazon.

I have some promotional Amazon coins that expire tomorrow. I can't find anything worthwhile to spend them on. If Amazon worked on my Nexus Player I might find something useful to spend them on but they don't even want to acknowledge the Nexus Player exists. They refuse to even sell the hardware on amazon.com.

Any time is a good time with fireworks! I believe our temp reached 15 degrees but after two of these Mai Tais it feels much warmer!

Last night I watched Doom starring the Rock, Carl Urban and the always beautiful Rosamund Pike. First I couldn't believe this movie was over 10 years old, next the movie had some good moments but it could have been so much better!

Here's to 2016 my Horror Fiends, let's hope for a great year for all!

While here in the SF Bay Area it was freezing when fireworks went off. There was even a frost warning up.

My many years of New Year's Eves were spent getting paid to play music at parties when would end quickly after midnight as couples seemed to have something else they wanted to do.

"Uncanny" is a sci-fi thriller about robotics I watched for NYE on Netflix. It was added yesterday and they sent me an email for it. Four soldering irons.

This movie was pretty good and I compare it to the Ex Machina (this movie a bit better). Not exactly horror (thriller) but the movie was pretty damn creepy in retrospect. Although I would love to live in that space in DTLA!

Love anime and I will check that out! Horror fans here might like Vampire Hunter D or Ninja Scroll for something more down the lines of blood/gore.

I wish I had gotten on the Plasma train a long time ago. The sammy I have is absolutely fantastic. After going through 2 RPLCDTV and landing on the Samsung I can't believe the massive upgrade in pq. Too bad they are done.

What are your daily driver sets? I know Oink just got a new fancy 4k set.

Yeah I believe mine is a 2012 too. No upgrade here until it breaks.

It's hard to beat a good plasma.
The only real weakness to 'em is they use a lot of juice, when compared to LEDs.

It really has a superb video; best I have ever seen in a TV.
And the built-in speakers are excellent, although I don't use them.

HOWEVER...

This Sony has, IMO, a severe weakness: the software.
It's absolutely terrible.
It is powered by Android and it's so buggy it has redefined the term.
I won't bore ya all with the details...if interested, you can wade thru the horror stories on the owner's thread (where I have been posting):
**Official** Sony X930C / X940C Owners Thread

Hopefully, since it is software, it will eventually be fixed, but Sony has been slow to react.
In the mean time, I can't recommend this set to anyone.

I believe the Sammy are Android powered as well, the Smart apps are terrible, just be a tv please leave the apps to the phones.
