Yeah those are good and yep, $66K would keep me away! Makes my B&W look like bargains!

I found the sales brochure and scanned it. I have the Spectrum-947 AV (top one).
I would have to research the back panels of new avrs' but I know my 4311 supports a ton of legacy inputs. I don't think turntable/phono is going anywhere but S-video and maybe component might be missing on the newest ones.

When I was a kid we had something like this. I was fascinated by watching the needle move around. Times were different then...
That Marantz is awesome! And that is what my dads Kenwood kinda looked like with those type of gauges and needles bouncing around.

I think the forum is acting up. My subscription page shows I have an unread post by BornSlippyZ at 7:44 (eastern) in this thread but I can't see it. The last post I can see is 18090 by Waboman.

Edit: Last post by darthrsg is post 18092. There doesn't seem to be a post 18091.

No s-video or component video on this one. It has 2 video inputs but they are composite with L/R RCA audio. I don't use the composite inputs anyway. I just ran RCA cables from the TV audio out to the video-1 audio input.

I still can't get on the last page of this thread with Firefox. I had to switch to Chrome.

Lol, I think I watched that last Octoberfest. All I can remember were the cool little demons and the big sister (who was probably over 18 in real life) in her aerobics outfit.

The Gate was one of those weekend afternoon movies that would air on local network tv. Of course edited for content but it wasn't edited that bad, kinda like AMC.

I tried to finish The Last Survivors (again) tonite.
The story takes place in "Oregon," but it actually isn't filmed here.

The screenplay is just wretched.
Dumped (again) at 40 minutes.

I dearly miss my Pioneer 2 channel from 1998. That thing was loud as hell. My understanding is that was pre Elite and pre the downward trend in quality. My next Pioneer, a 5.1 unit, after that sucked so bad. When it died I went to a Harman Kardon and am on my second one. I would buy from them again. It isn't pro grade or anything like the stuff everyone here has but it sure sounds great and gets lots of compliments. Now that we are marching towards building a place and a dedicated media room is happening I may up the game a bit. I'm actually getting the gear bug after being content for the last decade and having my tastes adjusted.

The D3's I have not. Have you? I know some guys from another forum and the Raidho thread here who I trust and they've piqued my interest. Would love to give 'em an audition... and get a deep dish pizza pie too. Ever since I bought my speakers back when, I have no desire to replace/upgrade. You don't strike me as someone who strays out of the audio mainstream. If I had to guess I'd say you have either Klipsch or Polk speakers. Not that there's anything wrong with either.

Well yeah, but say source is stereo. I know this sort of thing gets into personal preference but was just wondering. I'm watching Death Wish 2 at the moment, it's a 2 channel disc and the avr is in Dolby Pro Logic II, pretty much is all center channel.
