Sinister 2 is going to have to wait until after the Super Bowl as we have a busy week, but I loved the first one so I'm hoping for a big dose of the same.

Its nice to be back fellas!

I'll say he's back. The Visit was pretty awesome.

Whatever you buy, make sure it can handle HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 for the next gen (4K) disks.

Zombie Fight Club Search didn't turn up anything. Anybody see it? I'm not really partial to martial arts type movies, but I'd consider this if it was good.

Random questions...

1. Anyone else not receiving e-mail notifications when someone replies by quoting you? I get a notification on the forum but no long receive an e-mail notification.

2. Remember home theater calibration discs like AVIA back in the day? I still own my AVIA DVD. I was wondering if there are any new versions of these? Are they even worth buying anymore?

What do you have now? I loved my 2009 Denon but the new Auddysey is the bomb in my room and new amps have not hurt either.

It sounds good, if the execution matches the synopsis...

In a corner of the city, in a building riddled with crime... there is an outbreak of zombies. When one young woman (Jessica C, Double Trouble) witnesses her boyfriend falling victim to the zombie horde, she must team up with a police officer (Andy On, The Viral Factor, Special ID, Cold War) in order to stay alive and escape the building. But the once warm-hearted chemistry teacher, Wu Ming, is now the zombie leader following the chaos, which has transformed him into a cruel, vicious and formidable opponent.

Ratcheting up the terror, an evil organization has begun pitting humans against zombies in a malicious killing game. The good side of humanity has seemingly all but vanished and a world of uncertainty awaits...

I'm sure everyone will release their 4k optimized version soon. I have the Disney WOW bluray but prefer the AVS HD709 (AVCHD format) one you can burn yourself.
AVS HD 709 - Blu-ray & MP4 Calibration

Is great for dialing in black levels and shadow details that are helpful in many horror flics, along with many patterns that are helpful in dialing in a front projector. Though is probably pretty similar to AVIA.

Zombie Fight Club looks good. Only place I found it is XOD and they want $6.

Swung by BBY for lunch today and picked up The Last Witch Hunter Steelbook. Looks like a fun movie.

I have a Yamaha RX-V673 now. I don't have any issues with it and it's enough for now. But,you know how it is, the more you look the more you want, especially hanging around AVS.

You going to wait until you get your DTSX update, or watch it twice? Yours is in a few days?

Funny considering Oink ejects ever movie after 10 minutes, declares it garbage, and then puts any fans on a kill list.

Speaking of Kill List, you guys need to see it if you haven't.

After the update DSU will only work on Dolby codecs. For DTS we'll have to use their Neural X upmixer. Which shouldn't be a big deal if the processor automatically detects the proper flag and implements the correct upmixer.

Looks like the patch for fixing emails on "quotes" is working and it got three that we're posted since Thursday. Might take a while for all to get delivered.

Thing with Hulu movie listings is that their "recently added" may depend on if they get paid additionally by the distributor to put it at the top of their list. That list really needs to be pruned because there are lot of titles that have been there for awhile and sometimes if you wade through all the listings you'll some "recently added" near the bottom (must not have paid for a better listing).

Gotta watch the Evel Knieval film though because when I played music in a club in Butte back in 1966 he was one of the customers I knew.

Was planning on watching Last Witch Hunter tonight, but forgot the 2 hour finale of The Expanse was on. Witches will have to wait.

Sorry, you might have told me before but I forgot.
Anyway, as you probably know, Cabo and I have the 7702mkII.
Apparently, we don't get the update until early March (not that it really matters).

I actually did watch tonite and enjoyed it.
However, I probably won't watch again as I thought it to be a one-stopper.

The AV is off the chart, particularly the video.
Although I haven't watched a lot of BDs on my 4K, this release is the sharpest, most detailed 1080p I have ever seen on a display.

In fact, I actually reduced the Sharpness on my Sony because it was so crisp it almost looked fake.
I have never, EVER done this before with video.

At this point, I'm a little confused about what I was actually seeing.
No doubt it was shot with 4K camera cameras, but bejesus is the PQ amazing.

That's why you need to hang around 'Stereophile' more, we could at least get you into some separates and maybe those things the kids call 'Vinyl' All kidding aside, I have an old Yamaha I still use for late viewing with headphones. That silent cinema function is the next best thing to running the speakers at 3am.
