Wow I find that odd city planners had festivities at SF rather than SJ or Santa Clara. Not like they don't have areas to hold venues. Then again it was probably a political move to funnel money from Silicone Valley to SF.

Looks like I'll be getting Deathgasm after all. Apparently my local NF didn't have it. They're shipping it from another part of the country. So I have that going for me. Which is nice.

Spoiler!

I had that happen to me a few times since I moved here. I think I might restart my disc services because I like the discs coming to my mailbox.

Seems like if you keep a long wait disc at the top it triggers a bonus disc pretty often. I canceled discs recently because the turnaround was a week when it used to be a day or two. I had the two at a time plan and could return two on Monday and get the next by Thursday or Friday.

I had to drop it a couple of spots from the top to accommodate Ms. Oink.
Fortunately, she is leaving town Thursday and I should have the disk Friday or Sat.

Yup, push all of your pre-releases or WAITS to the top of your queue and it will trigger the extra disk.

I went ahead and activated my BD account because I spend more at RB a month than $8 for the monthly NF rental.

Yeah, that is too long. For the most part I get a two day turnaround. Mail Monday have back Wednesday etc. Every so often there is an extra day delay. Deathgasm expected to arrive tomorrow.

We enjoyed the latest Mission Impossible. I can't imagine needing to watch it again, but a good rental.

Thanks boys! I always wondered what was triggering the fact that I would get an extra disc every now and then.

In unrelated news......we watched The Green Inferno last night. Well, it was interesting to a point, but then writing/directing got lazy and we ended up pausing the movie on a number of occasions to discuss our complaints. Not a complete flop but still disappointing after waiting years to see this thing.

Usually it's a day or two turnaround. I have a feeling this movie is coming from the horned one himself.

Hey, Lama, how about a little something, you know, for the effort.

Yeah when I first started NF disc here in MN, it took about 2 days but then it was a day turnaround. My RB are kinda far for me so this will work to my benefit!

CaddyShack is probably one of my favorite comedies! That whole era was probably the pinnacle of comedy movie making!

On a unrelated note, I got my tires put on today at Costco and I actually cannot wait for snow now!

IIRC Cruise did a lot of the driving himself. And, iirc, there were a few BMW's throughout the movie.

Sometimes, as I am doing my 5 mile commute at 35 miles per hour, I wonder how fast I could get to work with a Purge like amnesty for driving? Kind of like what the characters have in these movies. May not have an M3 but would still be fun in my 265 hp, older, Nissan sports sedan. Heck, it would be fun in a Nissan Leaf. Lol.

If you get Showtime they are running a documentary about National Lampoon called Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead. It's pretty good.

It's snowing here right now.

It would be a BLAST! I miss driving on circuit tracks and it was fun in my 350Z, sadly though cars that were 20 years old still past me up. But then like this forum, you visit the track you will be upgrading your car!

I love all of those BMW M cars and the bikes in that movie!

look on youtube for cars racing in shut down mall or Hoonigan driving in cities if you want to see some cool car action in cities!

Watched "The Green Inferno" last night. It was supposed to be a freebie from the box but their interface has changed and you definitely have to hit APPLY if you enter a code. I think it used to be if you entered a code and hit return it would re-calculate. Anyway I liked the movie. Think some of you have already seen it. For those who haven't be sure to have some meaty snacks on hand. Four mini Peruvian flutes.

Yep, I agree and I do want a Porsche 996 or 997 one day and I can take my whole family in the car. My wife likes the 4 door Porsche but she knows the 911 is a bit sexier! I still like BMWs, but only the M cars get my interest, but I agree though dumping money into something German should come from Stuttgart!

Yeah my RB's are about 5 miles away since I live on the other end of town. When we go to Target on the weekend I usually stop by and get a movie.

On my commute route, there is a mailbox I can drive right up to drop off movies without having to get out of the car. Red Box should be this way as well.

I am 2-3 years away for a projector ($4k for 4k) but I am sure all the 55" tv folks will rave how good it looks from 15 feet away.

But, for $400 seems like a bargain compared to the first bluray players.

Best idea I have heard of!

I am hoping 4K pj's come down to that level in a few years! Yep, $400 is a bargain compared to what I paid for the PS3, but then again that was a 'bargain' compared to standalone BD players.

I'm reasonably sure I'll do a really cool 1080/720 projector setup far before I go 4k. These elderly people we are in a bidding war with over the house we are trying to buy are making me pro Obama Death Panel. There's a perfect room for a suitable theater in it.

I have been streaming NF and Amazon for the last 6 months or whatever.
I love it.
The PQ is much much better than I expected.

BEWARE used German cars out of warranty.
The cost of parts and repairs can give you heart failure.

I have never owned a German car, but came very close to buying the MB CLS when it came out about 10 years ago.

I won't jump until it is in the hands of a lot of our members and we can get some reports back.
If anyone can recall correctly, the first BD player was a Samsung and it was GAWD AWFUL.
Many were returned to sellers.

Most likely I'll go with the upcoming Panny or Oppo.
Had good luck with both brands.

FWIW, I have a 75" at 10 ft.

Another thing about these 4K displays is the video processing of the resolutions < 4K is excellent.

They CAN'T be expensive or the format will not take off IMO.
