That is cool! Love the visuals. Harder for a movie to make you believe that kind of over the top image.

No, I haven't been through all the HORRIBLE flicks I've already paid for on Hulu and Netflix. But who wants HORRIBLE ones? Sometimes there is a good indie shot on a DSLR. I don't have Prime anyway. I don't live in the sticks where you have to order everything except pine nuts.

No, St. Michael is a small town about 40 mins NW of Minneapolis. Close to Maple Grove if you know where that is. I absolutely enjoy Coen bros. films but just wasn't feeling this one. Its a straight up comedy with a "too clever for its own good" back story.

I am still in awe of the visuals of this game because I haven't seen yet anything that tops it. I think the gore/creature effects would be like The Thing but more of it since there are a ton of crew members on DS1/DS2.
Yeah I would think a good team like Rob Bottin and KNB effects could pull off a hybrid of practical and CG. This film would be rather dark as well because there are a ton of scenes in the game where the power cuts and come back on in an emergency mode with a ton of shadows. What really works in this game is that there is a mix of jump scares, environment sounds, impending oh ***** moments because you only have so much ammo, and you have to think on your feet and decide whether or not to go off the beaten path. Then the background conspiracy story woven in would just make this a hoot of a movie. I also think if a no holds bar movie would be made like this that it could be close to a NC17, which would never happen.

I will put a few more pics up (unless people object) of the Zealot suit the character has and of creatures. Sucky thing is to get screen grabs I cannot be paused because of the pause window on the screen.

Ok, I know where maple grove is and one day I will we will go up there and check it out.

That is what I felt from the previews as well. Fargo and No Country for Old Men are probably my favorite films by those dudes.

Since you are seeing The Witch tonight Collider film critic gave it a B+ which is pretty damn good!

Yes, but its less about where you live and more about convenience. Sometimes I choose to order something on Amazon Prime even when I have the ability to drive and pick it up myself....simply to avoid the hassle of going out in the winter. Correct me if I'm wrong (because I do live in a fairly small town) but doesn't Amazon Prime have same day delivery now for larger markets?? If I had that, my grocery shopping very well might be done from the comfort of my couch as well.

LOVE the theater, my man. We plan on building once our current home is paid off and best believe that I'll have a dedicated theater room. I love our media room now, but to have free reign on an empty room to let my imagination run wild makes my mouth water.

October fun: 31 days of Horror, Blood, Guts and Gore! (and zombies, too....)

I was looking on Wikipedia about DS movie and I found this.

Filmmaker John Carpenter is interested in making a Dead Space film, it is said to be very appealing for a horror franchise movie that might surpass Resident Evil.[55] Justin Marks will write the script but adapting the game storyline and the characters makes the movie production easy. EA has plans to adapt the Dead Space videogames into a potential film franchise.[56]

But that was a while ago so who knows what is going on with it.

According to this recent discussion he's not doing it. I don't know how credible the source is but it seems legit.

Dude thanks for sharing that! I wonder if it was a rumor or they decided not to have JC at the helm! What is cool though he likes the games!

I want the movie to come out but it has to be dark and hard compared to Resident Evil series.

Oh and Oink! That dragons milk bourbon barrel stout is damn good! I should have bought more because my wife likes it too!

I get emails from one of my favorite drive in theater in SoCal (Mission Tiki drive in) and the Witch is playing there tonight. I just think Horror films at a drive in is pretty epic! They also have Deadpool playing twice on one screen!

Crazy how many times you hear about a particular script or name being tied to a project and it never gets off the ground. I'm like DANG, Arnold Scwharzenegger in The King's Speech and it never happened...

Yeah, but I live in California. What is winter?

And there's a Fry's about 8 miles away. They make Best Buy look like a 7-11. And even then I check to see if the Walmart 1 mile away has what I'm after.

I know it's hard to get off of that couch.

Here is my Zealot suit that I finally got. I haven't played this game in 3 years and it still scares the hell out of me! This game is also Dolby digital but even at that it sounds good! I wonder if the game has a loudness boost during certain scenes?

Damn you Slippy, now you've made me want this game. I had the demo on the 360 awhile ago.A trip to Gamestop is in order after work tomorrow.BTW,you mentioned about a Steam Machine, this looks pretty good..http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...=Combo.2494258. I don't need another pc,but the urge to tinker and build is always there.

That is a nice rig! And I bet once I buy a pc, I will be gaming on it!

Sorry if I am making you spend cash but I think $20 for both games is a deal! There is 3 DeadSpace games but the 3rd one isn't the same game or scariness like the first 2. Oh and before I forget, you have to buy the Collectors edition of DS2 to get this suit. Play the first DS and then play the DS2 to see how the story unfolds!

Deadspace is totally badass.

Tonight's scary movie is Maximum Overdrive with a side of jalapeño mayo BLT and washed down with LaCroix sparkling water.

I might have to give MO another view tonight! That BLT sounds great too!

Hey have you played both or all 3 DS? My best on this game was playing Zealot mode on DS2 and I barely beat it! I am not even going to try Hardcore mode. I am starting off on casual and trying to switch up weapons.

Is LaCroix water or is it a soda? I want to try the coconut one.

My next PC is scheduled for next year. The current one will be 7 years old then. Not a bad machine. Asus did good. It's played all the top tier games I wanted to play and served up countless hours of video. Plex is streaming video or music at least three or four hours a day a lot of days. Lowly i5 with 8gb RAM and a 150 dollar Nvidia gtx.
