That's what he currently uses, my judgmental pork chop. He's been thru a few different processors and receivers over the last few months.

I have Comcast and it goes out everyday for short periods. By 5pm, it clogs and slows slower than LA traffic.

Have you gotten your DeadSpace yet?

Speaking of video games, the other title I am going to buy is No Mans Sky. I heard a rumor it will go up for pre-order soon!

Fortunately my Comcast rarely goes down but it does slow to a crawl daily. It's been down for a few hours now. Dead space hasn't showed up yet.

Funny thing is today my UPS order showed up early (normally late), but my mail hasn't shown up yet. First world issues, but I am excited that I get to wrench on my truck this weekend! Doing my yearly oil change, new K&N filter and interior cabin filter! Sounds a little ridiculous but I miss wrenching on things so this will be my fun!

Hmm, we are having my daughter's softball team over for a movie night this weekend. I was leaning Nekromantik or The Good Dinosaur. Maybe I will go Good Dinosaur then...

I hate to be that guy but Nekromantik is probably best left unseen by the young.

The sign that it is the first of the month is your Internet going out. Why? New subscribers being hooked up or canceling ones being unhooked. Shouldn't be happening with Comcast unless they still have to go do things on the pole in your area. But happens on U-Verse at the first of the month because they apparently need to unhook me for a minute at their big digital box while they hook someone else up. They claim they don't need to do that but I really have my doubts. They probably figure during the day no one is going to be using the Internet.

For those of you fond of those 1980s teen "R" rated scifi comedies you might like "Hot Bot" on Netflix. Definitely shot like that genre but updated to the 21st century. Not great but some fun. Maybe needed better writing. Two and a half numchucks.

Their site says out until 6. I hope that's 6 pm,not am. In 3 years with Comcast it's only the 2nd time it's gone down. When I had AT&T dsl, it was down ALL the time. Especially weekends. When they jacked the price up it was time to switch.

October fun: 31 days of Horror, Blood, Guts and Gore! (and zombies, too....)

I have been reading some of the threads regarding all things UHD/4K and educating myself on purchases into the new tech. Of course part of the thread came down to a debate about physical media vs streaming. One guy that works in networking/internet had some good points about our internet infrastucture (most over copper wire) and Comcast will be going to go with everyone on datacaps, especially DL big movies. Fiber customers don't have to worry because those can handle the bandwidth. So will 4Kstreaming be a huge bottle neck? Or will H265 save the day or will videostores make a come back because that will be the most feasible way to get 4K content?

What's the cheapest, easiest way to get these awesome 4k movies on your shiny 4k tv? (irregardless of video and audio quality of course)

I think either NF 4K streaming (as long as internet speed is constant) or 4K disc or something like the Kalidescape DL.

It very well could be.

The IPs know and have known for quite some time it was coming.
Part of the problem is they rarely have competition in much of the country and therefore, are not too keen on INVESTING in more infrastructure for their systems.
When the govt. granted monopolies to these companies back during the dawn of cable, it was a certainty one day consumers would come to regret it.

It's true 4K displays are selling much faster than anticipated and there is a lot of great online content right now, at this point there isn't a huge rush to start streaming everything....it's all still in its infancy.
Now, IF there was a nationwide fiber upgrade, that all could change very quickly.

Streaming, I guess.
Some movies are being streamed, but most of the 4K streaming is of some terrific online-only series...
