After Dark films seem to be all over the place. I watched "Lumberjack Man" last night on Hulu/Showtime. I also see that the box has most if not all the new 8-to-die-for series on DVD. This film is horror/dark comedy with a few chuckles. I would give it about 3 flapjacks.

I did laugh at one of the commercials showcasing a big handgun. Because I fired that thing long ago and it had so much recoil, I barely hit the target at 25 yards away! Made my 1911 'cheap' to fire compared to that gun though.

Because Ms. Oink was so amped up to see it I gave it more time than usual to grab me.
As it turned out, I ended up liking it quite a bit...thumbs up as a Good Ride in the HT.
CGI was very good.
The acting was also fine.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I did end up FF thru some of the teen melodrama stuff.
Just got this one in the mail from Netflix.....at the wife's request.....we'll see how it goes.

Speaking of hip hop, Juice happened to be on this morning on HBO. Maybe not as good as I used to think it was, but still a solid flick after 20+ years. Tupac kills it.

Can't go wrong with Pac!

I have Goosebumps in the queue and I might have to do a family movie night soon.

That looks pretty good. Is there a lot of hand-held camera work? I don't like it when there's too much of the shaky-cam stuff.

Can't remember if mentioned these.

Anarchy Parlor was pretty decent torture porn with a lot of skin.

Lake Eerie has a lot going for it in the atmosphere department and worth a watch for the spook house fans.

Rigor Mortis. No clue what the hell was happening as the subtitles would not display for some reason on Amazon. Seems like they were scared a lot.

Found a home for my October 2005 55 inch Sony rear projection LCD TV. Included a replacement bulb. Love that set and hopefully the new owners don't abuse her with football and real housewives. She's tuned for movies and actually has decent sound.

With all the Dead Space talk I was wanting some movie to fill that void. A little bit Doom, a little bit Pandorum, and a healthy dose of Sphere, Infini was a pleasant surprise. Borrowing some ideas from other films in the genre and executing it nicely. Lots of tension, great sets, and mind benders should make it worth your time. It's no Event Horizon but is on the same page.

Heh; I've got a smallish HD CRT about the same age, but think I'll keep her around for video game usage.

Grabbed this (Infini) from Redbox several months ago, and dragged my feet about reviewing it. It's actually decent with some good acting. Could've been great but storywise, comes up a bit short in the end.

Yeah not perfect and that particular flavor of sci-fi is hard and not highly populated, nonetheless a welcome member of that club. Has a lot in common with Sphere.

I like Efini and it was a lot like Sphere.

I popped over on BR.com and saw that Jeeper Creepers 1/2 are coming this summer from Shout!

Huh?
JC 1&2 has been out for several years now on BD.
7 bucks for both movies at Amazon.

You're lucky then. Did it have HDMI? Not so much luck getting rid of older RPTVs. Someone suggested I take out the parts and sell them on eBay. Yeah, just what I want to do, taking out parts is easy but dealing with shipping and customers would be a royal pain. Then they won't want them after I apply my consultant's fee.

Last night's view on Netflix was "Narcopolis" which is a UK sci-fi movie. It was okay but I would have rated it better if the sound mix was better. Seemed everyone was talking in a whisper. Sometimes these idiots do that and even my AV receiver compressor doesn't help.

This is a big problem.
I have lots of older, good AV stuff (including TVs) that are hard to get rid of...at least at a fair price.
Either I end up selling at 10 cents on the dollar or simply donating it.

I have both.

IIRC, the AV of the disks are fairly good, particularly #2.

Oh yeah I should have but I tried to donate it but they didn't want it. I was in a pinch and I was responsible for filling a 20 yard bin of waste in one week. The guy I rented the tub from probably had to take it out before dumping it.

Got an idea for a horror movie. Electronic rubbish become animated and attack people!

We're donating the CRT to the local orphanage run thrift store. The rplcdtv goes across the street to the evil neighbors.
