Haven't seen Leviathan in a while, added to the queue. I did Cyborg 2 the other night with a very young and spunky Angolina Jolie.

Is JCVD in Cyborg 2?

I might do Deep Rising next week.

Oh and did anyone see Civil War yet? I am hearing good news! I am hoping to see it Monday!

Ha, Tuesday cannot get here quick enough!

My movies came in and my Pandorum disc had a Walmart tag on it! Thought that was funny since it came from Amazon. Other thing I am doing is car shopping online for my wife. I think the internet has the better prices because dealerships have a considerable markup for used cars around here. At least she knows the make model and color now we have to go look at one.

It feels like CA today here in MN! Man perfect drinking weather!

They make some vague reference to his charcter showing a picture of him, but is not in it. Very hokey. The movie is filled with lots of 80's hokiness, even though it is a 1993.

Re-watched The Haunting (1999) after a very long time. Main purpose was to experience that insane bass again but damn, I had forgotten how great and intense the bass really is. Overall sound design is awesome too.

I have always liked this movie. Mainly because of the Welsh Gazelle (Katherine Zeta Jones)! I have it on dvd but I don't think it is the crazy bass release.

Watched Shark Lake last night. Not even the mighty Dolph "I must break you" Lundgren can save this stinker. Was so boring I had to fast forward some.

Netflix added "Ava's Possessions" yesterday starring Louisa Krause. It's billed as a dark comedy but worth a watch and a different spin on exorcism and possession stories. Three and a half teddy bears.
Music by Sean Lennon.

I watched 5th Wave and it didn't turn into a YA film till about half way through. Not a bad flick, has some really good sound and thump. More sci/fi and thriller but this could be a decent couples flick.

I am half way through 2010 and man Kubricks 2001 effects are much better than the '84 sequel. Great story, movie and I like seeing Roy Schieder (sp?) but they needed to spend time on getting rid of rigging that makes the astronauts float. This is the first time I have watched it on my pj setup so those issues were more noticeable. Still not a bad flick for $5.

I couldn't get into the 5th Wave. Found it too predicable and paint by the numbers. It did have some decent audio tho.

Yeah, there's so many great one liners and pop culture references repeat viewings are needed.

Yeah it was predictable and it had a brain hugger instead of face hugger lol. Kinda like a kiddie version of The Puppet Masters.

Does it smell like a giant fireplace burning crappy wood? That's the smell of a big wildfire. I became very familiar with it when our area was encircled by wildfires when I lived in Ventura county.

Oh yeah I remember when those Santa Ana winds kick up, fires tend to start. It use to erk me when I see people throw lit cigarettes on the freeway.

Yeah that fire is huge and they need that big DC10 to drop fire retardant on that fire.

Edit: I was looking at new markdowns on BDs at BR dot com and a lot of Shout! Movies are on sale for $12.99! Night of the Comet, Day of the Dead, Loed of Illusions, The Fog etc.

Sounds like a homage to his dad which is also what some of his music on "Ava's Possession" sounded like.

Did you move to Seattle? "Skid Row" came from 1st avenue running down hill to the waterfront and they ran logs down it before it before it became a street.

"Fairlane Road" is a semi-horror indie low budget thriller I watched on Netflix last night. Looked like it was all shot with GO cams. There was stairstepping on anything with a straight line thought the resolution (and filesize) was 1080. It's an attempt at a "Lynchian" style movie. Two and a half jumper cables.

Just watched Emelie. A little slow but has more originality than most other horror movies these days. Liked it overall.

Finally got around to setting up the home theater in the new place. Totally custom entertainment center, the latest in LCD display tech, and stellar audio from silver dollar size speakers. Our designer and architect is the best in the business for the "Squatter In A Crack Den" aesthetic.

Entire down stairs is a wreck. All the floors are out and all the furniture is piled in one room for the installers to get in Tuesday. We're camping upstairs on a mattress. At least the pool is clear, we spent six hours out there today.

The new recliner arrived for the study. Hopefully this weekend I can set that up and give Deadpool a proper run.
