Also, pretty much everything this year is going to be first time viewings!

Of course, if I have the time and inclination, I will throw in a couple of extra movies where possible as I usually do each year, but right now this is what I have planned and when:

October 1st - Monster Brawl (2011)
October 2nd - The Bell Witch Haunting (2004)
October 3rd - Martin (1977) (George Romero movie)
October 5th - Spirits of the Dead (1968)
October 6th - Them! (1954)
October 8th - The Unborn (2009)
October 10th - The Long Hair of Death (1964)
October 12th - ALL DAY MOVIE MARATHON - Pyscho 1, 2, 3, 4, and Bates Motel (1987)
October 15th - White Zombie (1932)
October 18th - Carnival of Souls (1962)
October 19th - Mountain of the Cannibal God (1978)
October 22nd - The Slayer (1982)
October 24th - The Mutilator (a.k.a. Fall Break) (1984)
October 26th - The House of the Seven Corpses (1974)
October 29th - The Wicker Man (1973)
October 30th - A Bell From Hell (1973)
October 31st - Interview With The Vampire (199

All dates are tentative but hopefully this list will give me a good time! I always look forward to this each year.
Looks like a very nice list. Thanks for sharin.

I recently picked up a boxset of mostly older low-budget vamp flicks from Echo Bridge at the 99c store, and enjoyed several of them, even though the transfers were pretty miserable, and many were poorly dubbed. These were a few of the better ones imo...

The Bat (1959)

Agnes Moorehead (Endora from TV's "Bewitched") plays a mystery writer vacationing in a rural town being terrorized by an elusive criminal known simply as "the bat". When the local authorities come up empty, it's up to her and the live-in maid to sleuth out the real identity of the crook(s) and his/her/their motives... and maybe get a new best-seller out of the story too. Solid B&W B-grade "whodunit" featuring Vincent Price in a supporting role. There are several versions of this on YouTube, the Internet Archive, and other places I suspect. Audio is unfortunately a bit tinny-sounding on many of the transfers.

There's also an older version of the film (shot on 65mm!) called The Bat Whispers that was restored by UCLA Film Archive. Looks and sounds pretty damn good for a 1930's film!

Quote:
This film is noted by Bob Kane as one of the inspirations for some elements of the Batman character, which he co-created with Bill Finger.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bat_Whispers

Crypt of the Living Dead (1973)
Aka: Hannah, Queen of the Vampires, La Tumba De La Isla Maldita

Spanish/American co-production about a blood-sucking princess buried on a remote Mediterranean island during the Crusades who is unearthed by an archeologist and his son, and begins feasting on the local islanders. Some decent low-budget thrills and FX, esp. towards the end. There's a passable widescreen color transfer that can be DL'd free here...

https://archive.org/details/CryptOfT...ditaColorUncut

Last film is for 18+ers...

Vampire Happening (1971)
Aka: Gebissen Wird Nur Nachts, Das Happening der Vampire

Bram Stoker meets Benny Hill (sort of). Softcore German sex farce about a Hollywood movie star who inherits an estate in Transylvania haunted by the spirit of her blood-sucking grandmother, the Baroness Clarimonde Catali. Bloody and bawdy high jinks ensue when the identities of the heiress and late baroness become confused, and the local villagers and clergy gradually start to become "turned". Directed by Hammer veteren Freddie Francis. You'll have to "dig this up" yourself since it contains much skin and R-rated content.

Got mine in today! Admittedly I watched a little of this disc because of what some naysayers are talking about on BD dot com. IMO, the detailing, colors and sound are improved big time! This disc reminds me of the Aliens disc from 2010, grain intact but it looks a film from the 80's. That is a good thing because the film itself hangs with a lot of Horror movies of today, if not better!

I think you guys are in for a treat!

That's awesome, BSZ. Can't wait for my copy to arrive from Amazon. I don't pay much mind to what they say. Always gonna be complainers. I love this movie. In my top 10 of all movies, not just horror. Heck, might be top 5.

Say, what did you think of the new Blair Witch?

I mean Dean Cundey (The Thing DOP!)was in BD dot com talking to us about this flick and how he likes this disc because it was supervised by him! And now a few vocal few are crying fowl with Enhanced sharpness supposedly added in. To my eyes this disc is what the first BD from universal should have been! I noticed a ton of new details, color pop and the sound is just awesome!

Most here will love this disc and trust me if it was worse than the 2008 BD, I would say something. But shout! Has a good track record!

The Blair Witch was really fun! The first act was like a retread of the first movie. But the end act was the payoff IMO! I really liked this because I like the OG Blair but I know this film and the newest sequels are divisive by most crowds today.

Will do (and thanks sincerely for the encouragement).

I've watched the first 9 episodes of "Angel", and it's more tongue-in-cheek than I recall... though I suspect it'll get somewhat darker as the series progresses. I must not have watched this very much when it originally aired (or maybe it was on channel I didn't get) because I remember next to nothing about this show.

It's on my DVR waiting to be watched along with American Horror Story, Z Nation and Van Helsing. I already have too many TV shows that I want to watch and I just saw a promo for another new Syfy series.

Channel Zero series premiere on October 11th.

I'll be catching "The Exorcist" tonight on Hulu. Syfy could probably make money with their own subscription app though most of their shows are picked up by Netflix on a way delayed basis.
