Another thing about the difference between a regular Android layout and one that will work with Android TV is to compare the Shudder screenshots with the 247 Horror screenshots on Google Play. The Shudder layout is pretty much for touchscreen and of course works on a PC where you touch with a mouse cursor. 247 Horror is laid out regardless of screen orientation with a top bar that you can move left to right on the controller to select and then up and down to for different titles. This will work with either touchscreen or gamepad. The latter of course works with other devices like BD players, Roku, etc.

Some of the companies may have begun as web only. And in a lot of cases companies get screwed over by bad contract designers who act like they know what they are doing but really don't.

I last saw Slugs on VHS in the late 80's and remember it being a fun horror comedy, and of course Terror Train is a classic 80's Jamie Lee Curtis slasher, which I recall was not nearly as good as Halloween but far better than Prom Night.

Both Baskin and Microwave Massacre are blind buys, I'll be reviewing them all in October!

Slugs is a fun creature feature kinda like The Nest! Are those the new Vestron Video's on BD Bob? If so those releases are awesome looking!

I finally bought Ghost Ship on BD, along with house of wax and return to house on haunted hill on the cheap for $9 and some change. Ghost Ship has lossless audio but the other two lossy sound. Not bad for the money imo.

Ghost Ship is great, not without flaws for sure but overall a super fun flick. House on Haunted Hill was so good until like the last 25 min when the CG kicks in. Geoffrey Rush and Famke Janssen both rock and that had some fantastic scenes. The scene with him locked in that room and the recovered video camera footage both made an impression on me at the time.

Since crazy things happen at work and we are starting to get really busy,I am not doing a list for October film watching.I have stuff I haven't gotten to from last year for starters. I will make a point to go down to Beverly Hills to see Phantasm: Ravager when it opens. Well Go USA has a list of theater locations up if you want to see it on the big screen, and of course the tall thin man says you're going. Note: He's not paying but you're still going. .
And don't forget this year we will have a fresh episode of The Exorcist every Friday on Fox.
"Do you think when you die you go to heaven no you go to "The Horned One" THO: "Wait a min, WTF. No no.. those tourist bus tours are bad enough, now some old skinny white dude is sending the undead over here. The undead stay in Atlanta not the Hollywood Hills.
Oh to have the problems of THO, so break out the Carlo Rossi and drink!

I shouldn't have to say this, but some people still haven't read the "posting rules" for AVS. Links to pictures or videos that contain profanity or nudity are not allowed at AVS. AVS is an all-ages site. So, if you have to preface something with NSFW, then it's not appropriate for AVS also!

I added the 247 Horror app to my Nvidia Shield TV and watched about 16 minutes of one of their free B movies. Free it's ad driven and I was drowning in Red Lobster shimp after those first 16 minutes (two ad breaks). Also the free option is SD only. But HD is $5 a month no ads so I may give it a spin. The movie, "City of Lust", was a little oversaturated but that might have been the intent. When at first I tried to watch the movie HD it played an HD ad which looked good so they can provide some quality HD. After the ad they popup the option to subscribe to get HD no-ads. The interface isn't what is shown on Google Play but it's like the YouTube and PBS apps.

The CW has it's app out but not for Android TV yet. Free but with ads.

100% agree on HOHH. The recovered footage was awesome and the movie was a solid remake....except for the ridiculous CGI that nearly ruins the experience. Geoffrey Rush and Famke do a great job.....definitely could've done without Chris Kattan though.

I like Ghost Ship as well. The "wire" scene with all the people on the ship kinda sticks out in my memory.

Agree on all as usual.

I have really not been watching much horror over the past year so I'm pretty excited to revisit some favorites in my library. I own both of those. Also looking forward to Livide, that one seems to grow on me a bit with each viewing!

The writers/directors for that were also behind a more recent French flick called Among the Living. The trailer isn't overly exciting but given their prior works (Livide and Inside) I'll give it a shot.
