That means nothing. People die at 1 year old, and people die at 100 years old.

Not so much dying but more like when I was in high school skipping classes Cobain was about to "change music."

I'm 70. So another decade to trek through... if lucky.

Speaking of which I just started watching "Z Nation" season 3 on Netflix. Thought the first episode was going on and on and found it was movie length. Will finish tonight and semi-binge the series over the next couple weeks.

I watched "The Monster" last night. Good performances can't help a thin script and nearly nonexistent plot. I found the initial backstory and the dysfunctional relationship between the mother and daughter to be promising (and more in line with the character-based content that A24 does best), but from there the car breaks down and we're stuck, literally and metaphorically.

I mean, I like a good slow-burn, but this was just s...l...o...w... 20 minutes worth of content spread out over 90 minutes isn't suspenseful, it's just boring.

That episode is a long one. My recording is 1:25:37 after I cut the commercials out. It was a "2 hour special event" (with commercials) when it aired on Syfy channel.

Not really Horror related but I picked up a new game, Horizon Zero Dawn. Great game so far and the story is pretty intriguing!

And tomorrow, the first trailer of Alien Covenant will be dropping!

I watched the Horizon opening cinematic, basically a single dad rasing his daughter and getting crushed by the tribal matriarchy.

I was kind of confused by this trailer but this from the Wiki page.
Plot[edit]

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant, which includes Walter, a rebuild of the android David, a survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition, find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. However, said 'paradise' soon reveals itself to be a dangerous world inhabited by the original David and monstrous creatures that start to hunt them.[3]

Looked like they stretched the storyline to milk a "special event" out of it for marketing's sake. Still fun to watch as I'm very familiar with the area where the show is shot. When I was a kid folks always told me there would never be movies shot outside of California because it was always sunny there. Guess Vancouver, BC changed that.

I clicked on a Shudder promo on my Roku TV the other night to see what they have and it installed the app. I see they offer a free option with ads.

That is pretty much it! I watched it several times and even Bloody Disgusting ran a bunch of stills from the trailer so you can see the carnage. One of the coolest stills was a bunch of dead Space Jockeys on the ground!

I thought the Prometheus sequel would be David and Shaw going to the Engineer home world - for whatever reveal that would turn into. This trailer, in conjunction with the Wiki page, says the Covenant is a separate colonization type mission that ends up on the same world as David, and I assume Shaw? I assume SOME type of abridged info was sent by David and Shaw, or something?, to get this planet's location out??

Either way, sounds like we have a bunch of new "red shirts".

I'll have to check out the ad supported option. I had an annual subscription for two years but I didn't watch it enough to consider it worthwhile so I cancelled after the second year was up. If they had an Android TV app I probably would have watched it more.

Well I went back and checked it out and the option is for the movie they are running at the time like you get (even on Linux) on the web. Otherwise it's a paid subscription.

"FrightPix" is another ad supported horror option but they don't appear to have an Android TV app. Watch out for their website though as pop-ups came up even in Linux and a blocker on.

It appears that Hulu is extending 4K support without officially announcing but they've been funky about announcements anyway. And it seems to be more than just Hulu Originals and a few Bond movies.
