It's Amazon's pilot preview time and they sent a list of 5 shows to vote on. I watched "Oasis" last night which I thought was excellent. It's a UK produced sci-fi show about a preacher who gets sent to a corporation run outpost on a distant planet.

Anyway, time to start Black Mirror. Expectations are high

LOVED Devil's Candy. I was a fan of Sean Byrne's first film "Loved Ones" too. This films tone is a lot darker than Loved Ones. I would describe it as a more refined and restrained Rob Zombie vibe. The film had a nod to the 70's/80's Satanic Scare (for those that lived through that era), along with a visual grindhouse aesthetic.

The films sound design and visuals were terrific. Well acted and taunt pacing with a 79 min run time. Highly recommended.

Folks here might like the Belgian series on Netflix "Hotel Beau Sejour". It's about a girl who finds herself in a hotel room with her dead body in a bath tub. I watched the first two episodes last night.

Looks like this one is available as a PPV on YouTube. I haven't tried that yet, I need a more reliable streaming stick on my main theater.

I should have mentioned in my post, we rented the movie on vudu. The HDX presentation left something to be desired relative to the PQ....that was a first for me. it was also showing at a local indep. theater here in KC too.

Why not? Me too. I don't have VUDU and have no experience with PPV on Youtube, but Amazon has it for $6.

Dudes and dudettes, if you need a break from stuff you've gotta check out Samurai Gourmet on Netflix. Something about that old man puts big dumb grin on my face.

Not really a strict cooking show but you might like it. Basically a Japanese salary man retires and as he adjusts to a new daily life with such amazing things as beer at lunch and his inner persona (a samurai) awakens. Beauty in the mundane at its finest. I'm in love with it. It's so chill and when that old guy eats it's great.

The Devil's Candy....very good flick (I believe). Unfortunately, I made the all-to-common mistake of consuming a number of cocktails and then starting the movie too late in the night. Needless to say, I wasn't at my best at 2:00 AM, so I'm thinking that a redo is on the menu at some point.

Ha, I decided to have my Scotch late 10pm and fell asleep before The Body Snatchers was over!

How about a quirky European horror movie? "Evolution" available on Netflix is just that. Three and a half starfish.

BTW, UltraFlix had the original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" in 4K (maybe fake 4K) but last I checked it was gone. I was even thinking of watching it.

Wife had to leave house for a little bit, i got on Netflix and watched TRAIN TO BUSAN.

Wow, great zombie movie, best I have seen in a long time. In fact, since I havent had a chance to watch many horror movies in a long time, this is really the best one I have seen in ages.

Great action, good effects, good photography in trains and train stations, fast scary zombies, and poignant too. Really really enjoyed this movie!!! I am lucky to watch 1 or maybe 2 movies a month on Netflix (some months zero), and this movie made my monthly fee worth it.
