No horror for me last night but checked out Netflix's new teen crime thriller series "13 Reasons Why". It was like Netflix goes local as it was shot in the SF Bay Area including a scene at a park a few miles from here with the Carquinez Bridge showing up behind. They did their best to obfuscate the location including removing front license plates and never showing a palm tree. I also watched because it's another Netflix 4K offering.

The town of Crestmont in the novel was actually based off that area of California.

So (in a really bad Sicilian accent) so have you counted your remotes recently, it would be such a shame for 'Harmony' to suddenly go missing. No one would want that now would they . I thought not

The Disappointments Room is boring. Not even the Queen of AVS, Kate Beckinsale, could save it, or perhaps, she was the reason it wasn't good? On a brighter note, Firstborn, is a low budget spook tale that's far more interesting. It's on Netflix if you need something to watch.

THO is an ornery old coot. But you tell him he can have his little Harmony. Real men go old school with multiple remotes.

You misunderstand, it's THO's remotes that have been jacked. But you're right about multiple remotes. The only Universal that real men need makes movies. As to your level of remote possession, I bow to The Master

Just finished The Windmill on Netflix. A seemingly random group of people have their fates converge on a tour of windmills in Holland. Each member of group has a dark secret and the resident urban legend has plans to make them pay. Points added for the location as well as background story. 3 teeth in your windmill ground flour out of 5 scythe wielding satanists.

I have an Xbox Harmony that was a gift. It can be a little sluggish and not that great to set up with the newer stuff. Also my AV receiver has an earlier implementation of ARC that doesn't always catch output as DD+ so I have to grab it's remote to force it. Since I watch most things Roku TV these days I use that remote instead of the Harmony that is used just to start a session.

Sat through Prevenge. A pitch black comedy of sorts, parts were well done and others not so much. Decent gore kind of slow.

Watch "The Discovery" on Netflix last night. Not horror but sci-fi with Robert Redford and Rooney Mara. Three and a half body bags. Tonight I will checkout "Dimension 404" on Hulu, a kinda "Black Mirror" show. They have first three episodes available.

Watched "Magic Magic", not totally bad but definitely misrepresented by the trailer. In the preview it really looks like they're trying to market Michael Cera as a weirdo killer type. What we actually get is a movie about a young woman's descent into mental illness, but not as good as the classic "Repulsion" from which it's drawing inspiration. It's about half good. 2.5/5 stars

Just got a look at this on a large screen last night. Unlike a lot of indie horror films that have trailers that are never scary and are stuffed with questionable critics quotes this one brings fear, dread, and it feels like Steven King. That drifting red balloon is even creepy.

Yeah, it is one of the most exploited crimes of the 20th century, so I guess that's nothing new. Maybe it's the way it's being marketed as a horror movie that makes it seem distasteful to me. Who knows, maybe it will be a good movie, after all lots of good movies are based on true events.

My daughter watched this preview when I was messing around on the computer. I said it was scary but she wanted to see it. When it was over, she said she would never follow a ballon or go into the sewers. So little life lessons to live by lol!

Don Rickles died at age 90. Mostly known for comedy, but notable on this thread for horror roles in "X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes" and "Innocent Blood". RIP.
