Ok folks. I got your Saturday evening planned out.

The Sand. The floor is lava but instead of lava it's sand that eats you. Similar to The Ruins but not as well budgeted and reminiscent of the Creepshow raft scene. Fun and dramatic but a solid 3. It's on Amazon Prime.

"Bokeh" turned out to be not much of a thriller. Some nice videography of Iceland though. I bet they shot a lot of scenes during the summer at 3 AM so the streets would be vacant.

Watched Transformers: The Last Knight in IMAX 3D yesterday night. It was okay. Some of the dialogue that came out of Anthony Hopkins seemed to be written by an 8 year old.

Final fight/battle was impressive and the A/V was awesome (which was the reason I was there).

Continuing the beach theme, Blood Beach. The early 80's classic on YouTube. Notable quotes include "We found a guy's weiner."

Beach Terror Triple Feature concludes with the 1996 sleazeball They Bite. A sci fi horror that spoofs the adult film industry and the creature feature. No DVD I'm aware of, this is pure VHS gold that a kind soul loaded on to YouTube. Notable quotes "I wish we had a boat, just cruise along and get wasted."

AIP was just way ahead of its time.

The Beach Girls & the Monster is available on the Internet Archive btw. But there are a couple different versions. Not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. But I'll post a link to the best transfer imo in the following thread, after giving them a more thorough look...

Season 2 of Preacher starts tonight. I haven't finished watching the first season yet. Is this one worth sticking with?

I'd give a shot, I got side tracked last year and episodes I wanted to see rolled off of AMC's vod , but now that season 1 is up on Hulu I really want to return to it. It was different in kind of a graphic novel/comic book way.

Yes. Great show with great characters. The season finale was one of the best in recent memories. Looking forward to S2.

Thanks. I'll keep recording it and hopefully I'll get a chance to finish watching season 1 soon.

And I'm wary of "Preacher" to see if season two shows up four days from now on Hulu. Probably not but who knows. That happened with "Legion".

I had some crackers and cheese last night on Hulu with "Bubba the Redneck Werewolf". Has it's moments. Anyone have the comics?

Dug up a 1980 Bigfoot movie on YouTube called Night of the Demon. The first half is pretty mild with punctuations of violence here and there as the gang investigates Bigfoot. It's a tangled web of college research and rural lifestyles with a dash of the occult. The plot comes together in the last 30 minutes and all hell breaks loose. Probably the most blood in a Bigfoot flick I've ever seen and certainly the first sexual assault. It's ripe for a remake and the Bigfoot genre has had few recent entries with just one being any good (Exists). Check it out if the old 80's gems are your thing.

The nod of support is appreciated, Ken. Recommendations by other members are also welcome there btw.

I don't use the subscribe feature, but there will probably be fairly frequent edits to my posts there to keep the info as accurate and current as possible. Just FYI.

I need to revise my lackluster review above of The Beach Girls & the Monster btw.

I watched a good bit of it while comparing the different transfers, and it is pretty dang awesome... in its schlockiness. Think a few of you might possibly enjoy. The best IA transfer is only mediocre quality though, unfortunately.

Not horror but I saw 'Transformers: The Last Knight' in 3D IMAX. If you're going to see this see it in IMAX it really is set up for the process and Michael Bay used Arri digital IMAX cameras. Not a film for everyone (NEWS FLASH NO FILM IS ).
The film series has it's haters but watch out for the subset of haters called HPR (Hated Pacific Rim). As always if you any haters let THO know and as always, their beer is gone.

Love Pacific Rim. But the last couple of Transformers are overly long and overly sucked. I have no desire to even rent this new one. THO concurs.
