I've never seen the company of wolves. I would do a blind buy if it where on bluray. I used to see the previews as a kid. In fact I think Bravo used to air it back then.

The Woman wasn't to bad. At first I was like why not just turn her in to the authorities. But then you see why? Crazy!

After the Sunday evening deluge I noticed that Hulu had a recommendation on "Mary Kills People". This is a Lifetime series about a woman doctor who provides illegal euthanasia to folks who want to die because they have a terminal illness. It's not horror but it is a pretty good series. A few years back Lifetime picked up a series that had been on A&E (I think) that was a remake of a Scandinavian thriller series with Chloe Sevigny that was also quite good. Curious thing was the PQ which didn't look HD to me more like 4K.

There is a lot of talk and interest by networks on 4K and I think some of them are testing streams if you have the setup for it. You might not even notice much of a bandwidth hit because these may be streaming at around 9 Mbps which looks perfectly fine the codecs (probably VP9 because it's free unlike HEVC) have gotten so good. That would also include using VP9 for HD too which can halve the bandwidth needed to serve an HD file as h264.

The eclipse was a nothing burger here in the SF Bay Area due to fog and clouds.

OK yahoos, what are we looking forward to in October? I know I'm going to see IT but that's Sept. It's been feeling dry lately, on all fronts. Even the under the radar stuff that makes it here seems slim. Any standouts?

Watched The Monster Project a day or two ago. It's a found footage movie but probably one of the better ones. Didn't find it much scary at all but it is action packed.

It does seem like there is a drought and I noticed NF reduced their Horror streaming library.

I might mix between BDs, DVDs and SyFy, AMC, IFC.

I turned DVDs on from Netflix but I agree it's slim out there. I'll probably add Shudder as well for the month.

Hey fellow floaters . IT comes out for September 8th. for a weekend I think we have to consider a Fri-Sun time frame to allow for family obligations, work, work surprises, vacations what have you. So if anyone is going to be on vacation (and away from a theater) speak up now so we can plan accordingly. And...
You'll float too...
