Technically, there wasn't much you can find any fault which I thought was remarkable of a grand zombie action movie on this grand scale.

in relative to other big budget films this summer WWZ ( better than Iron man 3 & MoS ) is pretty entertaining and did it's job very well esp like I mentioned in the production value and how the movie looked. This is one of those movies you be proud to show off your HT to family & friends as you got one of the biggest star today in a fast pace action.

Watched this on Bluray via Redbox last night. I enjoyed it, the opening scene when everything goes south was outstanding, it was really effective at conveying the chaos that ensues when things go south fast. Likewise the scene midway through when the place they thought was safe turned out not to be so, the way they show everything going haywire was great.

There are definitely some valid nits to pick, the plot was too linear and the ending was too tidy in a War of the Worlds sort of way (and seriously, the UN running the show? Do they even have ships? That was a job for 'merica tongue.gif), but I liked it anyway.

Just got done via Netflix. No previews to fast forward past so that's always a plus. Decent flick with an interesting take on "zombies". I had similar feelings as the last few posters - I thought the plane crash was the most hokey, but overall a worthy rental on BD

Lol. Maybe these are the "short bus" special zombies. Perhaps Matt Dillon could have avoided this plague all together with his hobby skills. I bet it all started in Oregon.wink.gif

Guess I could be more specific... Not generally a huge fan of zombie flicks so how they infected the non-zombies with whatever disease it was to "camouflage" themselves from the zombies - was interesting to me.. I know, great writeup. It's early and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

I burned-out on the whole zombie genre long ago but found this movie interesting enough to get on Blu-ray. Had some friends over Friday night for a viewing, they were on the edge of their seats and thought there was a lot of tension in several scenes. But if you're a zombie purist you may find it lacking.

I kind of bailed when Nascar fans were talking about the "rules" and how they'd survive.

I'll have you know sir, we take our "short bus special zombies" very seriously here in Oregon.

Hell, we have even managed to convince Easterners there is a hairy 9ft. tall wild man living in our forests.
We Oregonians ARE a serious bunch.

Amazon Prime Subscribe and Save also. Enough of that though. I hope WWZ2 is better. WWZ had potential but it is in the shadow of the greats so it's understandable.

In spite of probably being the most expensive ever, WWZ is not the best zombie flick ever created (IMO).

HOWEVER, the studio demanded a PG-13 rating and, as all fans know, this is an anathema for a zombie movie.
The miracle is Marc Forster DID make the most entertaining PG-13 zombie film I can recall.

Naturally, YMMV.
But color me impressed with a big-budget movie which very VERY easily could have turned out horribly for everyone involved.
