"Zack and Miri Make a Porno" - If you like Kevin Smith's movies then you will probably like "Zack and Miri Make a Porno".

Lifelong platonic friends Zack and Miri look to solve their respective cash-flow problems by making an adult film together. As the cameras roll, however, the duo begin to sense that they may have more feelings for each other than they previously thought.

Elizabeth Banks is great as Miriam Linky, Seth Rogen as Zack Brown doesn't do a bad job either. Some of Kevin Smith's regulars are included in the cast one of which is Jason Mewes (of "Clerks", "Dogma", "Chasing Amy" and "Jay and Silent Bob" fame) who plays Lester.

Zack Brown: What's your name?
Lester: Lester... Lester the Molester Cockenschtuff.
Zack Brown: Wow. That's a great porn name.
Lester: I get to pick a porn name?... Then I want to be called... Pete Jones

A must see for all Kevin Smith fans!

What is the deal with Seth Rogen being paired with the likes of Katherine Heigl, Elizabeth Banks, and Anna Faris? People always discuss being pulled out of a movie because of this or that, so how can we look at these pairings and find them believable? I thought Knocked Up was ok, however, I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at that relationship. Maybe because they’re comedies the absurd is stretched, but seriously...

I know what you mean...isn't very credible, is it?
Good Lookers don't go for funny guys.
Then again, Rogen isn't all that funny to begin with.

Well, there's Jenny McCarthy, who ain't too bad looking.

But then again, Jim Carrey's not really all that funny, either.

There is the case of Kevin James and his wife:

http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2897909504/nm0416673

Of course it's remarkable due to it's rarity. And like Trump and a few others he has enormous piles of cash to make up for his lack of looks.

For a guy to get the hottest women available, he has to have one of three things working for him, and while any one of them will do, two or more make it an absolute lock. This I have learned after decades observing the female of the human species, her disposition, mating habits, and the otherwise inexplicable cases of all those pro-golfers' smokin' hot wives. To wit:

1) Be good looking as hell. This one actually trumps all the others because it gets to the root cause of chemical attraction between the sexes. Nothing else matters. We've all seen it, haven't we? And we wanna' kill the bast**ds, don't we?

2) Be famous. Fame is a powerful aphrodisiac. Probably related to the achievement of status among the clan. Her children will have a better chance of survival with a powerful protector, etc.

3) Be filthy rich. I don't really need explain this one, do I?

While I’ve never watched either show, I’ve seen commercials and could only shake my head. Slim, shapely, good looking women, with men who obviously have a love affair with pizza and beer and hate the gym. I love beer and pizza, too, but my gym has always been my friend. Add Heidi Klum and Seal to the real life puzzlers.

The correct order is: 2,3,1.
FAME is the real killer.
Most women assume FAME = WEALTH, which sometimes isn't true.

While Leah Remini is sporadically an attractive woman (she's had her bouts of porking out), every chubby within miles disappears when she opens her mouth. She's almost as annoying as Fran Drescher . . .

If you call having a completely flat rear end shapely.

If you actually look closely enough on the show, you won't be able to help but notice it.

I’ll take your word on it. And while I do like a nice rear, given the opportunity, I somehow think I could put it behind and move forward.

Anyone who's followed Courtney's career (or, at least until the execrable 'According to Jim' which no discerning viewer should ever admit to watching) knows that her most impressive physical attributes have always been on her front side, as Aliens' pic aptly demonstrates, not her rear.

Must be a great movie (the one for which this thread is named), given that none of the follow-up posts address the movie at all...

Yea, the thread was kind of 'Hi-Jacked'!

As I stated in the 1st post it's a must see for Kevin Smith fans. There are some great lines but I'm sure it will not be to everyone's liking.

Would be nice to get some feedback from others who have actually seen the movie!

Yeah, that's my fault. Sorry about that.

One last thing. When I saw Miri in the title, I immediately thought of Mira, as in Mira Sorvino. Shazam! I've always had the hots for her. 5'10 and legs that go for miles.

THOSE LEGS.

I'm done. I promise.

lol, this movie was Kevin Smith's best yet.

Zack Brown: All male casts? Like "Glengarry Glen Ross", like that?
Brandon: Like "Glen and Gary Suck Ross's Meaty **** and Drop Their Hairy Nuts in His Eager Mouth".
Zack Brown: [pause] Is that like a sequel?
Brandon: Sort of. It's a reimagining.
Zack Brown: Oh, like "The Wiz".
Brandon: More erotic. And with less women. No women, to be exact.
Zack Brown: I apologize in advance if I am outta line here, but are you in gay porn?
Brandon: [smiles] Guilty as charged.

I watched this one tonight with my wife. We both were laughing hysterically. Some really good stuff here. My wife likes Rogen because he can do foul mouthed slacker and sweet at the same time. I like him in moderation, but this one was well written, definitely KS worthy and just flat out funny. Elizabeth Banks has some chops too.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

Not me. Very diasppointed. Smith is on a gradual slide, if you ask me. DOGMA was the last film he made that completely satisfied me. SInce then it's just been more of the same, only not as funny.

Extremely funny movie, especially if you're a Kevin Smith fan. The Star Wars stuff was hysterical. Loved that dildo prop spoofing on the garbage compactor scene. Nice.

You underestimate personality & confidence. I've seen plenty of good looking girls with dudes WAY below their league due either their confidence, personality or both.

BTW, loved this movie! It's very funny. Not as good as "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", but good.

Have to agree, Dogma is easily his best movie.

Or lack of self-confidence in the girl.

Otherwise, how else would you explain Courtney Cox and David Arquette?

Sometimes that's the case. hehe. Once in awhile, a really pretty and down to earth kinda girl whom has been treated very wrong by a guy (most likely "guys") will get sweet talked right after or during a bad relationships by an average looking (or less than average) Romeo who says all the right things, makes her feel like she's special....ya know, basically rebuilds her self esteem/self worth up a lot and just like that....he wins her heart. Although, generally the girls just go for the *******s....regardless of looks. lol.

Sometimes a real "connection" is all it takes if two people have a lot of common interests or opinions as well. There are many reasons for attraction besides looks, money, fame or material goods.

I guarantee you Seth Rogen can pull hotties without fame or money. As unbelievable as some find it in the movies....it's not at all unbelievable to me. Watch him in The 40 Year Old Virgin and he explains it perfectly. A lot of times it's just CONFIDENCE in yourself and knowing the psychology of women and people in general. If you know how to speak right and carry yourself that combined with confidence is all you will really need to pull a pretty girl. Now, if you're downright hideous it might be a different story. lol.
