I have it in my NF queue and will check out the 24fps BD, if only to see whether the 48fps presentation pulled the movie down for me originally.wink.gif

Watching this on VUDU pay per view service on my XBOX, so the weird viewing sensation this Movie has is a HFR? Right from the beginning it seemed like a Video game..Not always though, and the motion is not fluid.at times

So it wont be like this on Bluray?

No, current BD standards don't support HFR, it is 1080p/24. I can't think of any motion issues on the BD, and I never saw this in the theaters. Does Vudu advertise this HFR version? If not you might experience something else.

Lots of people on the BD review forum hated this film. while I can't say I loved it it was ok for me. One thing that stood out was Freeman's Bilbo he was the first Hobbit I could stand. Frodo and gang was as bad the Ewoks of SW Ep VI.

I had a chance to watch it last night and I liked it. I was very happy with some scenes that were present in the movie that had a connection to LOTR( Actually preferred those scenes then the quest of the Dwarves)

Pq and Aq I thought it was quite good ( the LFE was ok nothing to get excited about )

I'm going to watch it again next week making sure I didn't miss anything but will definitely be waiting for the next release.

720p60 in both 2D & 3D is supported by Blu-ray. 60 fps is a high frame rate.

There are quite a few different video standards supported by BD. Though it's true that 48 fps isn't supported.

Just got the bluray. Saw this on IMAX 3d and I thought some the CGI characters looked off. They looked much better in standard non 3D bluray.
Any Tolken fan should love this movie, especially references to the silmarillion. Movie was not as good as the LOTR trilogy but what is?

Gollum was AMAZING. Best digital character ever, we are getting scary close to real life CGI characters. Gollum alone was worth the price of this movie.

I was not expecting to like this movie but was surprised. I really enjoyed it. I like it better than the LOTR trilogy. My only issue was the music being so serious. Felt like the Ring Wraiths were about to bust up the Shire in the beginning with the tone. Luckily the Dwarves lightened it up decently. Good movie.
