Haven't seen much from you lately.

Wife, kids and 30 episodes of Game of Thrones. biggrin.gif

Saw it last night.....surprised at how good it was, and how much I liked the black suit.

It won't be winning any awards, beyond sounding the "awesomest in IMAX" award, but it was a very competent and thoughtful remake. It wasn't a remake like a Psycho, where everything is a shot for shot do over. But part of the spirit of the movie was in there. Not totally, but it was in there. The movie was nowhere near as violent, and the social commentary wasn't there. But action, thoughtfulness, and political commentary were definitely there.

I didn't miss the violence, as much as I missed the emphasis on how awesome Robocop was. I also missed the emphasis on his sweet gun. I was a kid, what can I say. But this remake is good on it's own merits and I recommend anyone go see it. Especially in a theater with very good sound and very deep bass. The opening scene sounded awesome in the IMAX I saw it in.

Overall, recommend it. It's not the original, as they really are two very different, yet similar movies. This is a cleaned up, more all audiences friendly version, but still worth seeing. I'm going to have to put my new copy of the original in this weekend to compare again.

I LOVE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw it too. It's plenty violent, dark at times, and while you have to look for it there is social commentary at times. And some it of that commentary especially at the beginning ought to scare the hell out you. Keaton and Oldman were great. Worth seeing.

"Bring out yer dead!".."Wait I'm not dead yet!"..(Sound Austrian here) "WRONG !!" (You know what happens next..)

Saw it last night with the fiance. Originally i wasn't planning on seeing it but the fiance surprisingly wanted to so we went and actually enjoyed it! Lots of "commentary" for sure! I'd get the BD!

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

The political messages are a lot more ham fisted than the original movie and at times it feels like a Teen rated video game due to the over reliance on CGI effects. The movie spends a lot of time studying the character of Alex Murphy but when it came to characters the movie suffers since it lacks the great villains found in the original movie. Overall I would say that it was an average movie.

Saw this over the weekend.

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that good either. Pretty much unremarkable.

I doubt anyone will remember this film 6 months from now.
