Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.

I have seen both of these and they are "very good."

Kinnaman was very good in 'The Killing', part of a first-rate cast that included Mireille Enos. It's hard to imagine him being a native Swede and playing that part. He just disappeared into a very complex role. I don't think his ability as an actor is really in question, especially for a role like this one.

And few have seen his best character, Frank Wagner.

Good movies are as rare as an on topic discussion.

Got the remake and original in this weekend. The audio was very good. LFE in the warehouse attack scene, and a couple other spots after, was a lot of fun.

As for the movies, I am really glad I did these on back to back nights. The remake starts up good enough and I agree with the favorable reviews and nit picks already mentioned. Then, seeing the original on the next night was an interesting contrast. The characters, and cast, were so memorable on the original. Dick Jones, The "Old Man", Bob Morton, Boddicker etc. Even the lesser thugs had their moments and I had forgotten the " I LIKE IT!" line.

Was fun comparing the two movies made 30 years apart. I was reminded in the extras, the 1987 version won an Oscar for sound. Back then, I'm sure, it was groundbreaking but is still shocking to me how far audio has come in movies.

Sound isn't just a technical issue, but how well it enhances the story. In Robocop the sound is vital for the illusion that its not a man in a plastic suit.

That's just crazy talk.

His armor was titanium, laminated with Kevlar. 400 ft lbs in that grip. He could crush every bone in your hand.
