This one is available now to stream from Netflix in case anyone is interested.

Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.

Julie & Julie is available, too. I'm watching it now. NF's streaming is getting better all the time.

GW, that's exactly what I was thinking last night while browsing around.

Not without 5.1 sound, it isn't.

^ There's a lot of movies out there that I'm willing to overlook that for. The convenience of instant streaming makes up for the lack of 5.1 audio for me, though I wouldn't mind having it. If it's something worth cranking the home theater up for, I'll rent the BD.

I don't think anyone would argue that the lack of 5.1 audio for Netflix streaming titles isn't unfortunate. Nevertheless, I have discovered that when I use PLIIx to matrix the 2 channel audio into 7.1, it sounds quite respectable. Better yet, for those of us who subscribe to Netflix because of its wide selection of discs, you can't beat the price of its streaming bonus.

Netflix streaming is significantly inferior to Blu-ray quality but its 720p HD titles look terrific, better than DVD; even its recent SD stuff has excellent PQ.

Count me among those who didn't care for this as well. Those who are tired of Hollywood craps, I wonder if they are tired of the equally boring and repetitive morals that these pecksniffians are bombarding viewers for decades now. The cat was out of the bag after the 30 min. mark and everything after was an excuse to have Rockwell "shine" but not much advancement of the story itself. Lots of hype about this film, but ultimately it is another forgettable flick.

LOL. Yeah, the car chase, the warehouse explosion, and the part where Julia Childs blows up the alien mothership all would suck without 5.1.
[/sarcasm]

Sorry, Julie & Julia doesn't need 5.1. I can't think of even one scene in that movie that needs it.

However, I agree the addition of 5.1 for many titles would be a welcome addition, but there are plenty of stuff that just doesn't need it (like Daniel Tosh's standup act I just watched, or An Evening With Kevin Smith which is just him talking for a few hours...no 5.1 needed)

I watched it Saturday and I loved it. Loved that the cat was out of the bag quickly (because frankly, it was obvious what was going on), and instead the movie focused on how the two deal with the realization/knowledge. Thought it was great and the "mystery" (which was pretty much given away in the trailer) wasn't dragged out for 90 minutes.

Best sci-fi movie I've seen in a few years.

This is similar to what I posted about it. The "big reveal" was nothing of a sort. That wasn't the focus of the movie. Had it been revealed at the very end, than obviously we weren't supposed to know about it. I thought it was done brilliantly, especially when compared to something we'd have gotten from a big Hollywood production.

Enjoyed it. Not a great movie, but an entertaining one, and one I’ll watch again some day.

Another outstanding performance from one of my favorite actors, Rockwell.

Whether he had been through the cloning replacement process so many times before that he was finally able to execute his escape after 15 years, to me was an advancement in the story. Had he remained on the moon I would agree with you.

Was the Sam Bell on Earth a clone or the real Sam Bell? Which raises the question; did the real Sam Bell ever go to the moon?

Duncan Jones is planning a follow-up film, titled Mute, which will serve as an epilogue to Moon. "Sam has agreed to do a little cameo in the next film," says Jones, who ultimately hopes to complete a trilogy of films set in the same fictional universe.

Those are the only two options, both are being portrayed by each clone, till the very end. So there was no advancement at east not to me . Yeah the characters did develop a bit, which is why I said that most of the movie was just a prop for Rockwell to show his acting chops.

Second spoiler:

Yeah I think the one on Earth is the real Sam Bell, and I don't think he ever pulled a real duty on the Moon, like the clones have, though I think he went there just to have the initial memory, but who knows, it's not relevant to this film, but it might for any prequel, or sequel.

He'd also be much older.

^^ Naturally, but like I said it and him has no relevance to the film.
