Considering it's a fairly big Hollywood movie (20th Century Fox) and that means casting a wide a net as possible, any overt anti-whatever messages were probably excised before the movie was ever greenlit.

I can't imagine RS deliberately trying to do that.
SOME people may try to spin it that way.

EVERYTHING is either Political or has a Religious component...it's f*cking ridiculous IMO.
There are way too many people with way too much time on their hands who need to take up a hobby...

I heard a rumor he hung a Space Jockey's petrified wee-wee over an air-lock on the Prometheus...apparently for Good Luck or somethin'.

Space Jockey's have wee-wees!? Stunning Revelation - No doubt a more shocking sight than the Xeno's tale preparing to perforate Veronica Cartwright in the first film. The Horror!

Otoh, maybe religion now considers itself to be part of the entertainment industry?

I don't see where any of that matters.
This is a popcorn movie, not ben-hur.

Huh? So religion has no place in society and can only be discussed in a church? I do not get what you are saying here.

At home and in church.
When Mormon missionaries, Jehovah Witnesses, etc. arrive on your doorstep are you glad to see them or do you get annoyed having to deal with 'em?

I may feel the same way about the press but it's a damn important freedom guaranteed under the First Amendment ("or prohibiting the free exercise thereof") and that freedom is not limited to the boundaries of privately owned land.

Personally I usually prefer to be entertained when I go to the movies, not preached to (with a few exceptions). But - "I may disagree with what you say, But I will fight to the death for your right to say it" - Volitaire

i think all we're saying here is everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs which they knowingly and voluntarily embrace.

if something is being forced on you, i believe it is inappropriate.

More Prometheus footage screened for a select few in London. Very positive impressions (and description of the scenes) are given here:

My impression - There's very little of the story outed beyond the opening few minutes of the film. Using the trailer and published images to draw any conclusions is entertaining but Scott and Co are keeping the good stuff very close to the chest.

No true spoils IMO.

Odd, I thought he settled on PG long ago with a promise of the real deal on BD. Why fight the land of the 40 million dollar blow job investigation. It's futile. Hell, we're used to it
