I searched for a thread on this but couldn't find one, so here ya go...

Watched this last night recorded off of HBO-HD.

Slice-of-life movie about an middle-aged guy (carolla) picking up his old boxing career in a sort of midlife crisis. Produced by Carolla, and loosely based on his former life in construction, but not sure what involvement he had beyond the starring role.

Full disclosure, I've always thought AC was hilarious from his MTV-loveline days all the way up to the recent Dancing With the Stars appearance...so I was probably a little more receptive to this than most. I liked it. It was amateurish at times, but sweet and very funny for the most part. Adam was surprisingly believable in the boxing parts...he must have some real experience.

Worth watching...

Thanks. I like AC. I think he's funny.

Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.

It's autobiographical. Adam wrote it, paid for it out of his own pocket and did all the distribution himself.

If you like AC at all, you'll love this.

If you don't like AC, you still might just like it.

The day they canceled the Ace man's radio show was a very sad one for me.

Apparently there's no place in today's world for a funny and intelligent talk radio program.

Back on topic, I really enjoyed The Hammer too.

for me, it was when this site was taken down.

the MTV show sucked, the loveline radio show OTOH is simply the greatest thing I've ever heard.

I thought it was awesome that Ossie, is played by his actual friend (construction buddy) Ossie.

Same here. I am hoping the site will return in some form. I spent a good amount of years listening to the radio show and have about a 100 episodes or so on my Zune. Love listening to old, classic episodes in my car.

We lost the whole station, Frosty Heidi and Frank, Tom Leykis, Tim Conway Jr. and Adam Carolla...what a stupid choice. There will never be a station as great as 97.1 in Los Angeles again. F pop music in the A. You can download Adam's podcasts, as well as Frosty, Heidi and Frank too.

Other than Conway (who's now on part time on KFI) it's only podcasts for the fans of 97.1. Don't know how the rest of them did financially, but Leykis had a sweet contract, so he's kicking back on his ranch in SB growing grapes...

but I digress......
