I don't know if anyone else out there is excited about this, but I sure am! This is a film starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans and Jason Schwartzman and directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). Anyway.. first official photos have been released as well as a synopsis.. check it out below (as well as some of the related links for more info)

Micheal and Jason have tended to select projects that I quite like, so that's hopeful.

Ok I'm in for this one. Rather quirky but seems original. That's always a plus.

UK Trailer out. Looks good. I'll probably pick it up on Blu.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

I saw it at garden state for the early screening mentioned above. The movie was fantastic. Fuses comics, gaming, and music into a movie flawlessly I read the first two novels after i saw it. The first novel is 99% in the film and the second is about 40%. They dropped the backstories of other characters. Oddly the film covers it all really well in its own regards. The movie is literally the comic brought to life. Every panel used is what it looks like in the books.

Your review makes me smile David. No offense at all, but this film is definitely a love it or hate it film. It will resonate with many, but I'm sure there will be nearly as many left scratching their heads wondering how anyone could enjoy themselves with all the video game & pop culture references, hipster mockery, and outright reveling in it's comic book origin.

You're definitely right lwright. It started off fun, but the repetitive nature of the film got really boring. I can't watch other people play video games, and that's what it felt like.

I felt like I needed to be on acid to completely enjoy the film . It had some hysterical spots, and some moments where I just wanted it to move on. Keiran Caulkin was frankly the best part of the film for me.

Someday maybe I'll actually WATCH my projector...

Could not agree more! He was great. Ellen Wong is my best friend's cousin and I know her. She played his obsessed asian girlfriend.

I really loved this movie (though Michael Cera's schtick is annoying and it could have been cast or played differently (though I don't know the source material)) until the end. Didn't like the girlfriend resolution(s) -- it seemed to undo what was done before. The humor was fast and furious and really the kind of humor I really love.

Jerry. Just remember. Its not a lie . . . if you believe it. GC

This move is all sorts of win. An ADD\\video game movie for an ADD\\video game generation. This movie flies at a million miles an hour of pure brilliance. It had a couple of moments that werent quite as successful, but overall the movie is absolute genius fun, with a great soundtrack to compliment it. Highly recommended for all viewers (under 40 ). Had an absolute blast watching this with a group of friends (even the 43 yr old liked it )

Sorta agree. I'm 59 and enjoyed the movie, but didn't quite buy into the video game premise. The humor was excellent and the performances very good. All movies require 'buy in' and I bought in originally, but slowly lost my enthusiasm as the movie progressed. This doesn't happen often that I loose my initial enthusiasm for a story. I'd still recommend it as a fun movie, even though I'm lukewarm on it in totality.

Just watched and enjoyed it. The creators threw everything but the kitchen sink into a blender and out poured a fairly tasty cocktail of modern pop culture and youthfull angst. As for the age thing, I'm 43 and I was still fairly hip to all the youthfull touches the movie presented. Besides, when you peel all the trendy gloss away, it's still basically a love story. And anyone can relate to that. I probably wouldn't watch it in its entirety again, but would fondly revisit certain scenes that I enjoyed. I thought it ran a little long, but that's my only major criticism. Well worth a watch at least once.

Being the sorta-gamer in my clique of gamer friends helped me really love this movie. The commentaries and bloopers are also funny as hell.

My friend (who bought the dvd) also ordered the comic book box set. I told him if Mary Elizabeth Winstead shows up with it at his apartment, he better keep her there, LOL!

Now in NE Tucson, AZ with a cheap rabbit ears antenna. Got everything except KTTU (MyNetwork).

Once you get past the style of this movie, there's not much there. You need to see it once for it's uniqueness but I wonder outside of a cult like following, how many people believe it has any repeat viewings value.

I'll definitely watch it again, it reminded me of ROTLD in terms of uniqueness.

I think it has a lot of heart and emotional relevance. The exaggerated story of a regular guy who has to overcome the baggage of the girl-of-his-dreams' past as well as his own insecurities (exaggerated in each of the 7 exes) is an excellent tale.
