Didn't know much about this, but the trailer looks promising. Here is the official synopsis:

Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life form began to appear and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures"...... Our story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

And here is the trailer:

I don't know if this is the same trailer or not, but here's an updated link (the one in the OP has been removed):

I have heard the trailer is a bit misleading and it's more of a love story with the aliens serving mostly in the background. Regardless, I think it looks good.

Watched this last night. Didn't know what to expect. The trailer and synopsis had me looking forward to some monsters. Nope. Ain't much "monsters" in Monsters. At least not that kind of monster....

Quick review: Low budget, multiple messages, shot nicely, pretty lady, wish I had my $15 bucks back and waited for Netflix.

Monsters is available on Xbox Live before it hits theaters. Probably other outlets too.

This one is going to be a freebie sneak preview on HDNet Movies at the end of Oct.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

Watched it in SD-DVD tonight.

For $15k, it's hell of a movie. As for monsters, it did not work for me but worth a rental due to the creativity of using $15k very wisely. The soundtrack is one of the better ones.

Hope these guys get a bigger budget next time.

They are getting a Godzilla sized budget. I didn't dig Monsters too much but respect what they were able to accomplish on what they had to work with.

I watched it last week and the title of the movie is just wrong and it really throws you, especially when you realize that Monsters are not the main theme.
All in all not bad for 15k...

Actually Monsters are the main theme if you don't limit them to aliens and include the humans.

I liked "Monsters" which I watched on Vudu when it went from "pre-release" into "in theaters" price. It is a people story not a monster film which is a trend these days.

and you know I considered that "human" thought too but I still would have titled it differently. Perhaps "Desperate Creatures" a survival story..or something like that.

No kidding. I had to look it up to see if it was true. That's impressive, even for a crappy movie (not saying this one is...I haven't seen it).

Stephen.

Watched this on HDNET a couple of months back.

Seems like a half-finished movie.
Some interesting plot ideas that never completely gel.
Kept waiting and waiting for something to happen.....

I guess my main complaint is there isn't a satisfying denouement at the end of the thing.
The movie simply stops, leaving me frustrated.

Perhaps the budget explains why. Still, impressive that the director could even make a movie that was seen by millions for 15K. That has to count for something.

I mean, some people have said they liked it, so what could this guy do with several million?

This director created a eerie sense of dread throughout this film. His casting was good and I was satisfied in the end and would love to see part 2.No its not a slam bang sci-fi mess but a well told tale.Much like films of the 50s.This was very much a believable relationship movie.Had no idea this cost 15k when i watched it.This is no blair witch jerky mess or paranormal one set film. For the budget its amazing he got such a scope of the environment.

I didn't watch this earlier because of the so-so reviews. I did watch it the other night and I didn't think it was that bad. The male lead bugged me, my biggest complaint besides the fact Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
that the ferries were the only boats around and the girl's father couldn't pay for a boat to come get her.
