Fair enough. I heard Stone Cold Steve Austin has a movie coming out. That might be more in line with your tastes. Maybe he will punch someone with his elbow or hit them with a folding chair. My apologies. I might have gotten a little carried away.

It is fine that you liked the movie and that's all that counts for you. No apologies necessary. Steve Austin??? Who the hell is he? No, don't bother to answer that.

I liked The Island better.

This one was brutally depressing on every level. It was a well made film that I needed to finish, but wished I hadn't.

I don't lurk as much as I used to and I NEVER listen. Comes from being old and cynical.

I'm way late to the party on this one, but I just watched it last night and it really whacked me pretty hard. I thought it was emotionally impactful and disturbing. It was profoundly sad as well, but in a good way.

I'm late myself, I thought this was a very powerful and poignant film. Still feeling it today and thats always a good sign. Thanks for bringing this thread back Dean, I would have never heard of it.

So yes, there must have been dissension among the powers in the early days.

I was watching the delivery men at the school, how embarrassed and unhappy they were to be there. They knew it was wrong. And those junky toys the kids were buying...that was hard.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
I agree to a point, however, I think the Head Mistress was a person who inserted herself into her position with the purpose of putting the brakes on the program. The majority may have decided that such a program was acceptable, but that could still leave a sizable number of those who didn't. You'd need to be in the machine if you want to steer it.

I think her loyalty was confirmed when she was shown in a wheelchair, apparently finishing her life without the aid of the donors.

I agree the delivery men scenes was very uncomfortable.
