Big news from the Batman camp in today’s L.A. Times: Christopher Nolan has revealed the name of the third film in his Gotham City trilogy. In July 2012, we’ll be queuing for The Dark Knight Rises.
I hope they keep it simple like they've been doing and don't try to stuff 5 villians into the mix as seems to be more and more common with superhero sequels.

Yeah, I also hate the title...sounds too much like either a cooking show or a porn movie. I'd have preferred something like GOTHAM KNIGHTS, GOTHAM CITY, or SHADOW OF THE BAT (which I think is a comic book title, but still better than RISES).
Wasn't Bale quoted as saying that, contractual obligation be damned, if they tried to put Robin in one of these movie's he'd chain himself to a pole and force them to shoot the movie around him? Something like that, I think. Sounds like something he'd do.

Something about the title, combined with the ending of TDK, has me wondering if maybe we'll see the rise of Harvey Dent as Two-Face. I cant recall if it was definitive or not that he was dead at the end of TDK, can anyone else?
If not.. I'd like a realistic take on Mr. Freeze personally, something to erase the memory of Arnie as him.
Agree with Fenian, and it would be about time too since we have yet to see those fruitfully in live action.
I can't wait for this, but I must say I'm not a fan of the title syntax, "The Dark Knight Rises". verb + noun sounds better than noun + verb for a movie title.
I like the title well enough. I care more that the creative team gives us another phenomenon like TDK. Not sure how they can do it, but that's why I'm not part of their team...

none of those titles represent 'verb followed by noun'
I wonder how badly they want to do another film with the Joker, the vauge ending of what happens to the Joker when the SWAT time finds him dangling kind of left them open to have him escape again for another film.

While the title may not be spectacular, it follows in the same line as the first two films...
Batman Begins x The Dark Knight = The Dark Knight + verb
