I'll wait for this one. I'm rather speechless by how boring and bad it could be.

I mean, a tire.

Looks like a re-tread of that same old story and the trailer kind of left me flat.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I recorded this the other day from HDNET.

WOW, the opening scene will really rock your boat.

This is a send-up of "B" movie horror.
This is a send-up of the Hollywood movie-making culture.
This is a send-up of the absurd surrealism in films of the 70's.
And this is extremely tongue-in-cheek.

It is a movie within a movie within a movie.
A VERY clever piece of work.

Essentially, this is one of the most goofy and entertaining movies to come along in a long time.

Although not necessary, I couldn't help the thought (while viewing) that ingesting mind-altering supplements would be the best way for viewers to enjoy this film to its maximum.

I don't really want to say too much about the plot, other than at every turn I was surprised and delighted.
Stick with it...even if it seems a little bizarre or off-putting initially.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Perhaps I should have ingested some mind-altering supplements before watching, it was just Ok for me. There were a few scenes I really liked but overall, just it was just so so.

This isn't a "great" movie.
What it is is a celebration of Movie Goofiness.

Do NOT, do not construe this as anything other than complete silliness.
If you do that, I would bet a nickel ya can't NOT have fun...

Oink, I knew this before watching it but it just didn't win me over as it did you. As I said, there were several scenes which I loved and thought were very smart and funny, but overall it was just Ok for me.

Just shipped from Netflix on BD today. Gotta say, I am looking forward to it (it will also be on streaming on 7/1 it says)

Already annoying the wife with killer tire jokes over the last few days in prep to watch it. This morning I saved her from the spare tire we have in the garage by diving in front of her and stabbing it with one of my crutches. She didn't think it was as funny as I did. You'd think she'd be grateful of my bravery.

I am hoping it's cheesy goodness fun. At the very least, I'll get some laughs out of it, or some use out of it with the jokes and eye-rolling from the wife.

5% creativity + 95% stupidity does not equal cult status.

I pity the actors and actresses that have to list that film on their filmography.

Just finished this (unfortunately Netflix sent the DVD instead of the BD, but PQ wasn't that bad).

I'm with oink. I absolutely loved it. Not only did I laugh throughout, but I thought it was beautifully shot as well.

Just a couple things I didn't really care for (like I thought the closing shot came off as a bit cocky or something), but all-in-all, was very happy with it.

Obviously YMMV and I understand the other comments (I'd imagine it's pretty far outside the norm for most people). Definitely a clever little gem of a movie in my book though.

Had to dig this up, since I just watched the blu-ray recently. My quick take: I give points to anything that at least tries to think outside the box, and be a little different, but ultimately I would have enjoyed it more without the movie-within-a-movie bits. If they had played it as a straight exploitation horror flick, it would've been more fun.

I agree with you to a point. The premise had potential, but like leather seats from a '71 Vega, it was largely unrealized. The film was hoping to win viewers over on quirkiness alone, yet failed to realize that coherence and pacing (along with acting, directing, script, etc.) mattered as well. This ended up being a mish mashed hodge podge of useless scenes that served no purpose. Basically, it made no sense. Perhaps I'm wrong in my judgement.

Sent from my iPad using I'm Never Wrong.

Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.
