Seems like music does not get as much love as movies in this forum so I thought I'd share this gem I stumbled across, really digging her voice, music, and style!

Oh yeah... among about a billion other genres but for sure. If you have some good recs/favorites send em my way! btw - isn't that music required listening for us zombie/horror obsessed folk?

I picked up Imelda May's Mayhem album and have really been enjoying it. I'll probably pick up her previous album Love Tattoo as well. Her voice, music, style, etc. kinda kick ass.

Yes, pick up the Jeff Beck Rock and Roll party; DVD or Blu-ray.

It's a tribute to Les Paul. Imelda does the "Mary Ford" vocals.

If you don't know, Les Paul is considered the father of the electric guitar. Les Paul and his wife Marry Ford had multiple hit records in the 1950's.

It sure is! I'm always looking for new bands so please share more. Imelda May sounds like everything I wanted the HorrorPops to be. Thanks for posting it.

My go-to's:

The Cramps
Tiger Army
The Amazing Royal Crowns
The Matadors
13 Cats
Southern Culture on the Skids

Hell I'm a sucker for anything with upright bass.

Wow, not sure how this disc passed me by, I'll be picking this up this weekend. Very familiar with Les Paul, owned one for a bit, also a fan of Beck but didn't realize another concert BD came out after Ronnie Scott's. Thanks for the info guys!

Horrorpops would be great with a different vocalist IMO. Love the Cramps and 13 Cats but the others are new so I'll be taking a listen, thanks!
Disclaimer: I'm a sucker for female vocals

You may also like:
The Creepshow
Rev Horton Heat is solid but someone beat me to that
Nekromantix has some decent stuff
I'm forgetting some greats but for some festive tunes for your next zombie walk after party check out Captain Clegg & The Night Creatures. It's Jesse Dayton from Road Kings doing all Halloween stuff, very fun.

Shes a hard working, successful singer. I'm not wowwed by the tonal quality of her voice however, it fits her style though.

Rockabilly has it's roots in the American South as do several other music genres. The most famous performer of rockabilly was Elvis Presley who came by his accent honestly by being born in that part of the country. But still, it sets my teeth on edge to hear somebody attempting a fake Southern US accent. Imelda May sings without such affectations and with the underlying soft intonations of Dublin. She's an honest performer.

New album due out in UK 4/28 and in July for U.S. She was just out this way for a quick visit to perform at the VLV Las Vegas Rockabilly Car Show but I'm hopeful more domestic tour dates will be added when the album hits our shores. Easily my favorite modern female artist (sorry China Forbes, you are a close second)
