I know, I should dvr it. But have been spending so much extra time in the theater with football and the NBA now...

Enjoyed Green Lantern as a below the radar, third tier thing. I am a scifi guy so I eat all that stuff up. Really could have been good but, like much of Hollywood, was dumbed down for a less intense product.

I apologize if I missed it from earlier posts. At the beginning of this movie, how could the lab technicians who are dealing with chimps not

I don't have time to watch the NBA either. Despite how entertaining the young and talented OKC Thunder's games usually usually are, I'm not willing to devote two plus hours to each of the team's games on top of watching all the shows and movies I want to see. That will change during the playoffs, of course, but that will be then and this is now.

You've got quite a team there....a possible NBA champion someday.

I wanted Durant instead of Oden. He came across as a singleminded gym rat as compared to Oden who seemed more interested in his celebrity - at the time. Not much has changed four years later except Durant is a top five player in the league and Oden is the biggest #1 pick, bust, of all time.

Too bad Oden has had so many injuries. It would have been interesting to see.

I told you guys going OT could be fun.

The few times I have seen him on the court I was impressed mainly by his sheer size...he certainly clogs up the middle.
Unfortunately, his inexperience shows thru (he looked a little lost), as well as his lack of basketball skills.
If he ever recovers physically, he could be a good journeyman rebounder and shotblocker.
But I seriously doubt much more than that.

Yeah I was wondering that too. Also, birth is kindof a messy process, so you think they'd have noticed (unless chimps are like some animals that clean it all up (i.e. eat it))

All in all, I dug the movie. I wouldn't say it was as great as it's been hyped up to be, but I was entertained with it.

i watched this last nite and liked it quite a bit. not so much for the acting (although i thought franco wasn't as bad as some have made him out to be), but for the story. i'll be very interested in the next one. it has me wondering if they will fill the gap between this one and the original with one movie.... because there is a pretty big gap there and i could see 2 or 3 movies to fill it in.

While I'm one of the detracators of this film, I still feel it has potential as a franchise. The original series went downhill after the first, so maybe this one will get better as the films go on. That is as long as they cast a human lead with more charisma than Franco. Whoever it was that compared him to a soap opera actor hit the nail on the head. Just no big screen presence at all. In order to hold your own in a movie with talking monkeys, you gotta get someone who can put on a show. Say what you want about Heston, but his style worked perfectly in the original. His over the top cynical, half-crazed Taylor was never blown off the screen by the apes. Franco was just a stiff in a lab coat. Jmo.
