Coming June 2012.

Tagline: Scottish princess, Merida, defies her parents by persuing an interest in archery, but inadvertently jeopardizes her father's kingdom in the process.

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

Very hopeful this will be a Pixar gem. Given that this summer's Pixar release was one of the few of theirs that did not capture my interest, I "miss" the Pixar magic.

The graphics remind of the game "Kameo" on the Xbox360 from 2005 or so. Obviously the details on the graphics seem to be amped up, but I don't think this particular trailer is pushing any boundaries beyond what we saw with the recent Dreamworks flicks - How to Train Your Dragon, and Kung-Fu Panda 1 & 2.

Cautiously optimistic on this Pixar title, especially after the egg they've laid, called Cars 2. Is the Pixar magic waning?

the Cars concept never appealed to me I admit, even with the first film. Turns out I liked it but I just saw it once and don't miss it. I haven't seen Cars 2 yet.

But this one... seems the Pixar magic is alive and well! And it looks stunning.

Full plot synopsis:

Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In “Brave,” a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts.

Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida’s actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it’s too late.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, “Brave” is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and the signature Pixar humor enjoyed by audiences of all ages. The film takes aim at theaters on June 22, 2012, and will be presented in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.

Sounds to me like "Braveheart" (rugged and mysterious highlands of Scotland) meets "The Little Mermaid" (she turns to an eccentric old witch and is granted an ill-fated wish.)

Not remotely interested in the story content, so hopefully the Pixar magic will pull me through. Images look terrific.

Looking forward to this one, as I do for all Pixar films. Some of them have been better that others, but all have been at least good (IMHO), and most have been exceptional.

Interesting side note ... this will be the first Pixar film without John Ratzenberger. Disappointing, as he is one actor that I always enjoy seeing. Maybe his Scottish brogue just wasn't up to par.

After achieving instant classic with The Incredibles cars was a serious let down . I'm hoping this turns out well but it does remind me of HTTYD and The Hunger Games already has lady archery . Please come back Brad Bird and give us the sequel we are waiting for.

Understandable, since the adult vikings in HTTYD had Scottish accents.

So let's see, I have seen Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles. Cars, Wall E, UP, Cars 2, and now Brave. I like Brave. I thought it was very well animated plus I did like the story. Not to give anything away, I also liked the twist.

It ain't easy being green.
