Am I the first one here to see it and report back?

As I posted in my build thread: It is undeniable audio and video nirvana. A 120 minute future demo reel for anyone with a modicum of a home theater.

I couldn't help myself and listened to some of it on iTunes (I usually don't, I prefer watching the whole movie first) and it sounds amazing indeed. Great blend of electro and orchestra. I can't wait to hear that music, on the big screen this time!

Fantastic movie. I had high expectations and this movie delivered. I am already looking forward to the blu-ray. The 3D is pretty subtle except for an amazing sequence near the end of the film.

♦ Ranking much higher than 'Interstellar' and 'Gravity' and 'Avatar'.
...For people who truly appreciate life on Earth, right here, and not in space or on another planet or on the other side of a wormhole.
...No, real life in the desert, raw and harsh, just the way it was meant to be. ...Plus Charlize.

* Those makeups remind me of Batman; the bad guy, Tom, in the last one...with his dentist apparel. ...Seems to be the vogue nowadays in Hollywood...wonder what Mel thinks of it all.

Did you mean 3D?

"While Cannes is presenting the movie in 2-D, Miller confessed he preferred the 3-D version saying, "if I had a chance, I’d see it in 3-D.""

I am going to catch an early viewing tomorrow morning at 9;30am at the Arclight in Atmos 2D. Last time I did this with the Avengers, we were the only ones in the theater. It was glorious.

Really looking forward to this. 2 weeks ago I would have never thought it would have gotten the reviews it has. I was hoping for 50% on RT. Ha!!!!!

It isn't a BAD MOVIE.
It's just we were all expecting more from JW.
However, to be fair, he has a pattern of having something of a Sophomore Jinx.

Mad Max: Fury Road is @ 98% right now over @ Rotten Tomatoes, and everywhere else it is ranking very high as well.
This is the type of flick that our communities love to see @ the theaters. ...It is honest, realistic, no sci-fi fluff here, and just simply raw and nasty, ...the good kind of entertainment we all love. ....The type that people, us, can easily relate to.

It's far better than last week's Avengers, not quite as fresh and long comparing to the non-stop action here.

Charlize really kicked butt, stealing scenes from Tom/Max.

Love the music and the bass here.

I found ti a very enjoyable summer flick, worthy to add to my small blue-ray collection, ahead of Avengers and Ex-Machina (very little action but a twisted and dandy plot).

So I'm taking it seeing this in Dolby Atmos is a must..... If it's only 1 movie I see in Atmos....this would be a start. $7 Tuesdays in FDX with Dolby Atmos in Florida. Frank's Cinebowl to be exact.

FDX is a big screen 2D format.

It is not a must, but at those prices, why not? Especially, if you are only going to see it once. Having seen it in 3D with Dolby Atmos and in 2D without Dolby Atmos, there is a difference audio-wise with the Dolby Atmos mix sounding better. However, the 2D version that I saw had a pretty aggressive mix and there was still stuff overhead and that was without any overhead height speakers. Video-wise, the 2D version was smoother because some of the sequences were over cranked and in 3D that was more obvious with some choppiness. The Dolby Atmos mix is simply more immersive, especially with the drums. So 2D and large screen format with Dolby Atmos would be the best way to see this movie, IMHO.

I wish I could see it IMAX 3D in ATMOS in D box seats, at once.

Debating whether to wait to see if the one theatre will show it in IMAX 3D now that Avengers IMAX 3D is dying out, or seeing it in 3D dbox. Ive never done dbox before and wanna try it out

+1. Also agreed that Max was playing 2nd string in this movie, sort of like a sequel to The Road Warrior carrying similar story line.

The stunt was amazing, especially with the poles. There is a current Wired Magazine article briefly talked about the movie in 3-4 pages.

EDIT: I was referring to Avengers 2.
Sorry I was actually talking about Mad Max and the ratings. I would have never thought it would have gotten 98%.

Anyhoo, saw the movie in 2D atmos....what a thunderous mix! Awesome movie/action/acting/etc. Loved it! I will have to upgrade my 50 inch TV before I get this on Blu or 4k Blu. It just really needs to be on the large screen. Atmos in my opinion was much better with MM than the Avengers. Just terrific!

I am chomping at the bit for a 75+ inch 4K.
Right now the prices are almost stratospheric.

Of all the ones I have looked at the most impressive is Sony.
Of course, YMMV.
