I can't believe this is actually happening. I watched it and thought, wow at last, at long last!! This is gonna be amazing...

...I'm gonna start a thread about an upcoming flick *before* lwright finds out about it!!!

I know I'm gonna see it, my daughter loved the first one and I guess she won't want to miss the sequel. Could be a fun ride for the family.

yep, I like Dwayne Johnson btw. It took me some time actually, but he seems like a very nice guy! At first I thought he was just another big-muscles-guy-turned-actor (Scorpion King days...), but there's something more here. He doesn't seem to take himself too seriously which obviously makes him very sympathetic.

While I always liked him, I agree with your assesment. The Furious Five movie was that much better cause I like "Rock N Riddick." Hey! I just coined a phrase.

Where's the love for Journey 2 and The Rock? I had to check the 'this thread is over 80 days old' box. Since it's opening in less than a week (Friday the 10th), I thought a thread bump is in order. We're looking forward to seeing this at the IMAX in 3D. Should be a fun adventure.

I will have to see it. I was told by the wife that the Rock has good skin. It didn't go as well when I told her "so does Kate Beckinsale"!

I see commercials about this movie on TV, and when they show the "Pec pop of love" bit... "Boom!"... I get a kick out of it every time. These roles are perfect for Dwayne, and yes, he's one who doesn't take himself too seriously. He was on The Tonite Show last night; didn't see too much of that, but he's just a good guy all around. He mentioned that he's going back into wrestling, and the audience cheered loudly.

Let me know what you think - Praise of criticism.

I haven't seen it yet but your review mirrors the ones on RT. I'm still going to see this despite the critics but it wont be today cause the show times are wacked due to theaters nearby still have Beauty & The Beast and Hugo showing. Those screens would have been showing J2 3D. Show times are 4:15 and 9:30 (too early & too late).

Took the family to this at the IMAX. We all enjoyed it. The 3D was actually well done. And Vanessa Hudgens was popping out in 3D. When we exited the movie we ran into the Emperor strolling the halls. The lobby was full of Stormtroopers and Jedi's. My kids got a kick out of the the characters going into the SW movie.

I'll probably go see it since I'm a fan of Dwayne Johnson and Michael Caine. Is the 3d /IMAX worth it?

Sucks about the showtimes. I tend to find as much good in a movie as I can, but I had a hard time with this one.

I thought the 3D was well done. Didn't see it in IMAX though. I did see it on a Barco projector and that bad boy spits out a brilliant image! The Hobbit trailer was stunning.

Good lord that looks awful.

When people talk about the "crap coming out of Hollywood these days" this is pretty much precisely what they have in mind. But people keep going to these movies, so they make more of them...and then people keep complaining.

Ah well...no accounting for you-know-what.

(Now I'm off to watch some movie in my home theater that, no doubt, other people will think is crap...:-))

I'm a fan of the IMAX and a proponent of seeing a movie on the largest screen you can. Plus, the 3D is really well done. So I say yes, it's worth it.

I barely remember the first. I'll have to give it a rent.

Dwayne Johnson has a great sense of humor and Michael Caine is always reliable. Now give us your best pec pop of love, Franin.

Uhm...Jaws The Revenge?

(Caine, while great in the right movie, has a pretty terrible history of spreading himself thin, taking parts in awful movies, and not exactly elevating them either)

I wonder how much this has to do with the old Harryhausen film, or, Lord save us, Jules Verne?

Dunno....does Capt Nemo even appear? The original Harryhausen film was recently released on a very lovely BD. SyFy Channel is also running one of their usual knock-offs tonight.

Hehe. I actually thought of that movie as I typed it. Caine has been in like, 800 movies. There's bound to be a Jaws 4 or two. Here's a quote from him referring to Jaws 4. "I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that Jaws built, and it is terrific.

I remember seeing the one with Brendan Fraser when it first came out. But I can't recall if I liked it or not. Getting old, amigo.

I bet Mrs. Franin gets the special pec pop of love.
