Watched this last nite: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1886493/

With a strong Pulp Fiction vibe, this is a very fine modern noir.
Well paced, with a clever mystery at the center of the plot.
A sense of danger throughout makes this a fun evening in the HT.

Good performances all around (particularly Ms. Akerman and Whitaker).

The BD's PQ is excellent, while the sound is just OK (some muffled dialog).

I liked it to. It's sorta Elmore Leonardish and as the writer/director said in the vane of "Drive" and a homage to Roger Corman films. He originally was planning to make it with friends for around $80K. I think some of the low ratings I've seen is because it isn't the typical Bruce Willis ride'em cowboy adventure movie. It may become a "cult" hit.

Interesting, I had this in my cue when it was released by deleted it. Nothing else new this week except Carnage so guess I'll put it back in my cue.

BW is doing a character he rarely does and the audiences probably couldn't handle it.
Oh well, their loss.

Saw this one today, I liked it.
As someone said a bit of Pulp Fiction vibe to it.
I thought BW's character was great, loved to see BW make a dishelved weirdo character

21:st century Karate Kid......Logon, Logoff, Logon, Logoff..

Catch .44 looks interesting to me too. I love Malin Akerman and the premise of the film is intriguing. Unfortunately, Redbox only has it on DVD so I am relegated to TV if and when it shows up. To that end, I have setup a Wishlist for the film on my TiVo. Will report back when and if I get to see it.

Netflix has it on Blu (which is how I saw it.) By the way, Ackerman has been cast to play Debbie Harry in the CBGBs movie.

Last year, when this thread was active, I setup a Wishlist on my TiVo to record Catch .44 when and if it showed up on TV. It did finally show up over the weekend, on Encore, and I recorded it. The movie was saved by the predictably wonderful performances of Forrest Whitaker and Bruce Willis and an intricate ending that worked fairly well. In its early stages, though, the film looked more like a film student's exercise than a film starring a couple of big time actors. Anyway I thought it worked well enough to earn a score of 7 Stars out of 10 but that's generous.

No need to apologize...either it works for you or it doesn't.
I enjoyed the minimal approach and the convoluted final act.wink.gif
