That got a laugh around the table when James first pulled out the banana. Great demonstration.

This is for all the avatar fans...for me frankly the 1st was plenty enough but I'm sure this news is great for all the fans.

Back in May, James Cameron was first quoted as saying that there might be four "Avatar" movies in total. With the first one having earned a record $2.782 billion at theaters worldwide, star Sigourney Weaver is now saying the next three will be filmed at the same time. Here are several quotes from an interview with Showbiz 411:

When Political Animals finishes shooting, see if you can follow Weavers schedule: she goes right into a new Christopher Durang play for a short run at Lincoln Center. Then she films Avatar 2, 3, and 4 with James Cameron. Thats right: theyre making three sequels to the blue 3D phenom all at the same time. Weaver says she has no idea how long it will take, or how its going to work. I just show up, she said.

In the previous interview, Cameron said that they had "spent the last year and a half on software development and pipeline development. The virtual production methodology was extremely prototypical on the first film. As then, no one had ever done it before and we didn't even know for two and half years into it and $100 million into it if it was going to work. So we just wanted to make our lives a whole lot easier so that we can spend a little more of our brainpower on creativity. It was a very, very uphill battle on the first film. So we've been mostly working on the tool set, the production pipeline, setting up the new stages in Los Angeles, setting up the new visual effects pipeline in New Zealand, that sort of thing. And, by the way, writing. We haven't gotten to the design stage yet. That'll be the next."

Could we be seeing "Avatar" movies for three consecutive Decembers in 2014, 2015 and 2016? We'll have to wait and see when the production reveals more details.

I'm confused. Weaver's character died in the original, but she's in 3 sequels? I must have missed something. Someone please educate an old man.

The inclusion of Weaver in any "Avatar" sequel might seem confusing -- spoiler alert for the three people who didn't see the $2.7 billion-grossing blockbuster: Weaver's character dies -- but Cameron isn't concerned about getting her involved in future Pandora adventures.

"Have you ever heard of nonlinear storytelling? A lot happens on that planet before she shows up, and before Jake shows up to join her," he told Vulture. "She's there for fifteen years ahead of time. I don't know, but I wouldn’t jump to conclusions. [...] When you have a science-fiction series, a science-fiction franchise, you're never dead, unless your DNA is expunged from the universe. And then there's always time travel!"

Terminator, Aliens, and Prometheus? All will be watched in Blu-ray 3D on my LG 3D TV. Avatar 2 will be the only movie that deserves IMAX attention. And will be watched on 3D TV when the Blu-ray copy comes out.

Good god, now the 4th one will be a prequel according to James in a recent interview. Isn't grossing billions enough for this guy? JC must be one greedy SOB or got some massive debts we're not aware of. Only light of this is that I just hope we get through this crap quick so that he can begin work on Battle Angel which is on tap right after Avatar. Hopefully JC will revert back to his Terminator and True Lies roots with Battle Angel. I still have a glimmer of hope JC's not 100% Lucasfilms sell out yet.

On the heels of yesterday's story that revealed that James Cameron's potential fourth Avatar film will be a prequel comes word, via Swedish site MovieZine, that the writer/director still plans to adapt Yukito Kishiro's sci-fi Manga series Battle Angel.

"We'll focus on 'Avatar' for the next four or five years," producer Jon Landau told the site when asked about Cameron's continued interest in the property, "Hopefully right after that… I am confident you will see it. It's one of my favorite stories, I think it is an incredible story, a journey of self-discovery of a young woman. It is a movie that begs the question: 'What does it mean to be human? Are you human if you have a heart, are you human if you have a mind, are you human if you have a soul?' And I look forward to bringing that film to audiences."

Set in a cyborg-dominated 26th century, 300 years after society fell to a catastrophic war, Battle Angel follows a young girl in a cyborg body who, after being found in wreckage and repaired, realizes that she has lost her memory and doesn't even know who she really is.

The most recent update to the adaptation had Laeta Kalogridis providing the screenplay for the project, which would combine the first three graphic volumes of Kishiro's work, "Ido," "Alita" and "Hugo."

Cameron cast some doubt on whether or not he'd ever realize his adaptation earlier this year, but Landau's update could mean that the project hits theaters as early as 2017.

Battle Angel looks like the perfect angle for JC to somehow make another "Terminator" film without Arnold. This time with a young female lead who has memory loss which also sounds like another angle for a "Bourne" style movie, also is found in a garbage heap by a cybernetics doctor who rebuilds and takes care of her trains her to become a bounty hunter - sounds vaguely like Leon.. Female terminator Bourne Identity Leon. Seriously can't ask for a better project than this montage of huge successful blockbusters for him.

Ok now let me guess which big name hot 2 trot flavor of the month young up and coming babe he'll pick for the lead...in about 4yrs production/casting will begin the one that will ripen into this debutant by then I bet it will be Chloe morertz, Saoirse Ronan, or Katy perry. Long shot hope personally I'm hoping for Megan fox who IMO is still very under rated hot vixen with loads of skill and range that has yet to make that one big film. Lastly, he might just use what he's familiar with and that's Jessica alba from his Dark angel project.

Although I am not completely familar with the story of BA, the Japanese manga angle does appeal to me.
