Agreed.
This is what Prometheus 2 is supposed to explore by going to their homeworld.

Exactly.
IMO, an excellent premise for a movie.

Everything about the plot of the upcoming film is just rumors anyway, for now.

You may be when it comes to Tom Cruise but not for that movie.

IMDB: 7.1 rating

Rotten Tomatoes: 73%

Even in Josh Z's High-Def Digest:
"It's pretty good, maybe has a few issues. (40%"
"It's a godawful trainwreck. I can't believe how terrible it is. (21%"
"It's brilliant! A masterpiece! (18%,"
"Meh, it's OK. (11%"
"It's not very good. (10%"

So there. wink.gif

Fair point. I'm not sure if I would care where they came from at that point, being a self absorbed human. I do think both could be accommodated pretty well with smart writing.

Dunno. I only recall the Star Trek "universal translator" being used in one episode, which is probably why Josh didn't remember it. It may have been that one. They may have mentioned it in other eps, but that prop is kind of big & clunky to carry around. Little did the production designers of ST: TOS back in the 1960's know how miniaturized real-life electronics would get within just a few decades.

And if its the Arena episode, not even Kirk understood that it was a translator.

There won't be a “Prometheus 2” next year or most likely not the year after either.
Ridley Scott is going to do The Martian starring Matt Damon for a November 2015 release.
Then he most probably will do the Blade Runner sequel.

The Martian Manhunter? Awesome.

As for the next Prometheus I think it should be a prequel.

Based on what? A hunch? Prometheus 2 is already in pre-production so it will happen. Blade Runner however is still dormant... IMO Prometheus 2 will be done after the Matt Damon film.

Considering the ending of the first one, I certainly hope not - we have to know what's in store for Lisbeth and Magneto! That ending wasn't conclusive at all so I don't see why they would do a prequel instead of answering those questions first.

Preposterous 2! Can't wait - Oh Wait! I can. I have enough ****otanium needed for
the next mission

The mission to New Zealand will find the makers living in vast expanses of wealth
on the hilly/grassy lands of BSitium. Shaw is stunned by the sheer expanse of the house/grounds
netted from the Cow Pattie staring herself and is utterly confused when the creature named "Suzie"
greets her with a kind yet hollow smile.

I have a few “Christian” friends who watched this movie and did not understand it. Well, one sort of understood the story and what Ridley Scott was trying to convey, and hated it. My other friend had to be told what this movie meant. Again, both are Christians and are firm believers in the lord. With that in mind, I have read a lot of comments from people from all walks of life, culture, socioeconomic back ground and race. I have seen many different opinions and thoughts, but every single person who has watched this movie has talked about this movie in their inner circle. If a movie can create so much discussion, is that not a win for the producer, director, or script writer? However you look at this movie and from whatever interpretation you may have come up with about this movie; I think Ridley Scott has done an excellent job. If he does not direct the next movie, I will be very disappointed. The problem with most Hollywood movies now is they are all brain dead action thrillers. You know those movies with the 8 second scene changes, the wobbly camera angles, and no depth to the story. The very idea of the origins of human existence is a topic that should not be considered taboo, but discussed in an open format and actively pursued. This movie is one of the best movies that I have seen in a long time. I look forward to the next movie and will wait patiently for as long as it takes.

I remember my friends and I discussing a particularly nasty bathroom we encountered while on vacation one year. Talked about it many times since for a good laugh at just how pathetic it was. Kinda the same thing.
