I enjoyed this movie very much. If you don't like Arnold movies you won't like this.

I got it on launch... Really enjoyed it! Even the better half liked it. A/V quality was outstanding.

At this point in his career I prefer him to be cast in roles such as this, where it's viable and believable... But he still has to have that old man badass factor.

Better than I expected, pure action movie so please check your brain out at the door. This is much better than Expendables 2.

I couldn't get past the implausibility of it all.
Most particularly the "escape" stuff, nearly all of it eye-rolling for me.
It was as though action movie tropes of the 80s and 90s were still alive and kicking.

OTOH, the wife watched the entire thing and loved it....so there's that too.

I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. Like the Expendables series, it is an action movie with "heart", is how I describe the sensation. Plus it has a flare for violence in the action scenes, that you just don't get in modern (PC) action movies. It's not violence that is a buzzkill or makes you feel uncomfortable, rather violence that makes you clench your fist and yell, "YES!" when the bad guy gets what is coming to them.

What I did find annoying is the recurring gear shifting in the Corvette. Thought we would not have to see this type of stuff anymore after that first Fast & the Furious movie? Seriously, people!...nothing ruins a car movie like nonsensical gear shifting. The car sounds, otoh, were very nice!

I need your sweet love, Rosetta Stone girl!

There were all kinds of things about the ZR1 the movie completely got wrong.
Apparently, the budget didn't allow for a car expert to explain realities to the filmmaker.
It is one of those things that is SO easy to fix and takes nothing away from the excitement of the movie.
A simple phone call is all it takes.... sloppy, amateurish filmmaking IMO.

With 1000 hp of supercharged v8 goodness (as cited in the movie), I don't even think it would be necessary to downshift. It's probably a good way to break the rear tires loose while at speed and get into a serious fishtail episode, doing that kind of stuff. tongue.gif

FWIW, it was mentioned the guy had some experience racing.
However, you do have a good point there.
