There are many movies where I start to watch them on cable again and then think, no, I have it on disc and should just watch the whole thing with the best quality possible, so change the channel. In addition to many worthy candidates listed before by others:

The Italian Job
Air Force One
Independence Day
Chronicles of Riddick
Cast Away
The Verdict
Big
The Untouchables
The Omega Man
Notting Hill
That Thing You Do!
The Replacements
Rob Roy
The Andromeda Strain

To tell the truth, these movies are from a period long long time ago in the galaxy I no longer visit. I'm sure I've seen it; don't remember a whole lot of it.

Sorry again if I'm repeating but every time I see the thread title I think of another movie....in this case two. Porky's and Hollywood Nights! I'll watch these two anytime they are shown.

What a daunting task! I don't know whether I have seen all of the films listed here "at least ten times" but I will represent that I have seen them all a bunch of times and own the BDs of most of them:

  • The Godfather I and II
  • The Shawshank Redemption
  • Citizen Kane
  • The Maltese Falcon
  • Casablanca
  • The Red Shoes
  • The Wizard of Oz
  • Gone With the Wind
  • Saving Private Ryan
  • Bladerunner
  • Oh What A Lovely War!
  • The Big Lebowski
  • Broadcast News
  • LA Confidential
  • Inglourious Basterds
  • The Green Mile
  • Singin' In the Rain

The list goes on -- and on, and on -- but I am as tired of making entries as I am sure all of you are of reading them.smile.gif By the way, kudos to joeblow, this is a neat thread.

Here are a few I can think of off the top of my head:

The Princess Bride
A Shot in the Dark
Indiana Jones Original Trilogy
Star Wars Original Trilogy
Monty Python and Holy Grail
Dr. Strangelove
Top Gun
The Third Man
The Three Amigos
Christmas Vacation
Blazing Saddles
Casablanca
Tropic Thunder

OK, I may have watched most of those, in their entirety, only maybe 5-10 times, but thats my list of movies with the highest replay value. (At least that I can think of just sitting here. I'm sure there are more If I walk over to my Blurays and take a look)

BTW I'm really happy to see Christmas Vacation and even Tropic Thunder mentioned so many times in this thread. But I'm disturbed that EVERYONE didn't have The Princess Bride mentioned first, INCONCEIVABLE!!!!!

I'm absolutely stunned that I am the only one who mentioned the funniest movie of all time..."Used Cars" w/ Kurt Russell. It's got everything! And no one mentioned "EdTV" either? Another stunner. People must have their comedy value system misplaced. LOL.

If I didn't mention Princess Bride because I haven't seen it 10 times, but pretty sure I've seen it 5 times by now. Used Cars maybe the same, about 5 times. EdTV I thought wasn't worth a second viewing as yet...it wasn't bad it just didn't hit those chords with me that make me want to see another time.

Good choices. Had I not grown tired of making entries when I posted earlier, I would have entered The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Dr. Strangelove. I have the BDs of all three films and have watched them a bunch of times.

Bump the score for "Deep Impact" up by one. Why do I do it to myself? You'd think that it would get less intense with repeat viewings, but it's even more intense. I feel like I've been hit by a truck.
