Saw this back to back with The Last stand and had a great time with both. Not as good or polished as Last Stand but still worth a watch. There's some hate on this one but it was a standard J Statham film no more no less. And sure you can say J Lopez was miscast ed or was terrible but I thought she did fine for female Latina that was required for the role. The script was a little weak so you cannot fault the great Taylor Hackford the man who gave us The Devil's Advocate but he did the best he could with what he had.

Statham IMO is just right under Arnold and Cruise as the big action guns and I love their films and what they bring to the table.

Suit yourself buddy but I have no problems with Statham ok. He's done a hell lots better than the Van Damme's, Seagal, Stallone, so I don't what you're complaining about. You have better action guys in mind?

I have no problem with Statham I like him a lot. Where did I say otherwise? I was simply making fun of your " adjective" of Last Stand. I've yet to see this movie, but to me your "endorsement" was less then encouraging since I didn't care for Last Stand. Get it?

Well actually I don't get it and now more perplexed than before. If you like Statham "a lot" like you say then you should enjoy this even though it wasn't nearly as good or well put together like The Last stand.

The Last Stand has a better action dir even thought I love the man Taylor Hackford. It has a much better well rounded cast with big names and better performances. It has a better script and story. It has a much bigger budget. It has more hot women and better humor. And there was more action and better stunts. But yet you don't find it polished...ok fine.

There is a big BIG problem with this otherwise fine JS vehicle: the Lopez character.

A more completely, totally unnecessary character I haven't seen in a long long time.

I got the distinct feeling Lopez was a late signing and arbitrarily plugged into the script because she is, well, Jennifer Lopez.

Nick Nolte looks to be on his death bed right now.

Oink, the JS production is releasing yet another action film this weekend Redemption. This one I think will def be a notch up from Parker.

The guy is cranking out action flicks like it's nobody's business. He's got another one called Home Front with quite a few big names like J Franco, W Ryder, K Bosworth out later in the fall. The man is getting a nice paycheck about 3x a year for playing basically the same role..you know Ex special forces, Ex bounty hunter, Ex hit man, Ex cat thief, Ex tough cop looking for redemption ...biggrin.gif

Agreed, he is prolific...maybe TOO much so.

He has become very type-cast (probably of his own choosing).

To be honest, I am not asking much from him.
He reminds me quite a bit of Eastwood in those spaghetti Westerns.
However, he is not helping himself by appearing in poorly structured screenplays.wink.gif

Agree that JS is type cast, just like the other former muscle men. I enjoyed his role since The Transporter. As for JL, there are better looking and younger actresses out there.

It's your typical JS film - more power to him and his bank account. Rental only.

All of the "action" guys are getting way too old to be credible.
JS is still young enough to make it work....wink.gif

Names alone doesn't make a movie and Last Stand proves in spades. In fact it was among the worst films I've seen in recent memory.I just saw "Safe" with JS and enjoyed it quiet bit more then LS.Generally enjoy his films and he is far more current and polished then Arnie ever was.You must be even more perplexed now.

Safe was pretty weak for JS, IMHO. It's nothing like LS either.
